G advice

Hello everyone, new guy here trying to get into the club :-)

I've been looking for a while now for a G37 and I need some help deciding one which one of the following choices is the best buy & value.
....or should I keep looking.

My budget is around 26K.

The choices are:

2008 G37
Link # 2 for the same car
Carfax report

2009 G37
Link #2 for the same car
Carfax report

The 2008 has 12K miles "certified" and sold by an infiniti dealer but I wonder why it has very low miles being a 2008
The 2009 has 35K miles and not "certified"

They are about the same price but I like the 2008 because of the low miles but I've seen comments about is better to get a 2009 because the 2008 had some issues and they were improved or taken care of when the 2009 came out.

Your great help and experience is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

take the one with the lesser miles..I have a 2008 and no problems for me. As long as its certified through infiniti, you are all set.

The 2008 appears to be a sport/manual, while the 09 does not have the S on the back and the interior pic appears to be an automatic...

Look closely at the interior pics of the '09. I don't see the Ebrake next to the driver seat either.

Good luck.!

wow, good eye !

I do want a manual and after reading your post I see that the '09 seems to be automatic.

Thanks,

Mike

Both are nice but the 08 is a sport model with the upgraded BBK and 6mt. Had the 09 been sport id go with that one. Drive them both and see which on you like best. I prefer darker interiors but cant trade the "fun" factor.

Yep first one is better. You should be able to get it around 26. The 31 on the windshield is a joke.

One more thing....
Im planning to put down about 50% and finance the rest.
Is this a smart move or should I put down as little as possible ?

Based on my budget, to me the main thing I want to know is how much can I get the "G" OTD

btw..Im pre-approved by my credit unit for 2.99 %

Thanks,

Mike.

doesnt matter how much you put down, down payment is just for you getting the payment you want. if you put more down though it helps as you do not need gap insurance at that point. Also if you decide to sell it later you wont feel as bad when you have positive equity in your vehicle vs negative.

Putting more down means you'll have a lower payment. If your money can make you more than 3%, then you come out ahead putting down as little as possible to get 3% financing. If your money just sits in the bank collecting 0.5% interest and doesn't make you money, then put down as much as you can since borrowing the CU's money costs you and it's cheapest if you borrow the least.

I look at it this way; Sure a bigger down payment means smaller monthly payments and less interest overall. However, considering how small the interest really is over the course of say 5 years, I rather have the cash invested in something liquid in case some emergency comes up. It all depends on your financial situation.

Ok, I drove the car today 2008 G37 and I liked it but I wasn't to excited about the color (silver)...I noticed they lowered the list price but even then for some reason the color didn't do it for me
I realized that I rather have a dark color, I did like a blue one they have available blue G37 also MT; this one is also nice but it has 40K miles for $24,994 (certified)

I also like a black G37 listed at another dealer, this one has 12K miles but it is listed for $30,540
Should I be concerned that the second owner only kept the car for less than one month per the carfax.

Again, between the blue and the black...which one would be the better choice for the money & value.

blue G37 40K miles $24,994 (certified)
black G37 12K miles $30,540 (certified)

Thanks again,

Mike

40k miles on a 6mt means your clutch has its days numbered..plus that one doesnt have a navi

the black one with less miles has a navi..

if money wasnt an issue, i would get the black..

40K and clutch is gone?!@# I sure hope not. I expect at least 80K miles like I got out of my camaro (z28 lt1) clutch. Problem with a used car though, you don't know how the previous owner drove it. I've ridden with people who treat both pedals individually and don't sync their throttle/clutch movements. You know, ease clutch out as applying throttle. Instead, they'd bring the engine up to 2K or so rpm, then slowly let the clutch out while keeping throttle at a constant rpm.
