Thanks for all your replies. Im really looking at the black one.
Knowing that the car is certified, is the clutch covered ?
If it is not, should I ask to make sure its covered before buying the car ?

usually certified just means it comes with some kind of warranty and they gave the car a look over to make sure everything is in good shape
like others have said..you just never know how the car was driven..the clutch plates could be fine..or they could wear out at 60k. usually you can tell a little bit by driving it...see where it grabs and such.

clutch is part of wear and tear so the warranty will NOT cover it. I babied my car for 55k miles and the clutch was on its way out. These clutch's are notorious for chattering at stoplights and what not. Mine was grabbing later and later so its a good thing that my lease was up now.

Well, I guess I better keep looking for my G37; the salesperson said that if I want the car is 33K OTD 
Its a nice car with low miles but I think its a little over priced...and over my budget.
Here is what Im thinking...I can get a MT with around 35K miles for a lower price knowing that the clutch might go out soon and figuring a budget to have it replaced in the near future.
Besides the clutch, what would be another item(s) I might have to replace with this many miles?
Here is another G37 Im looking at...what do you think?
heck, I even started looking at an automatic but I think I wouldn't be happy. I guess I have to be take my time to find the right one for the right price and be happy with it.

^^Mike, we can't give you good otd numbers as taxes and fees vary quite a bit state to state. A pre TTL (tax, title, license) price is more favorable to comparing across regions.
The first link in post #22 looks pretty good, low miles, though it is a 4 model year old car. If you like the car and it drives decent, keep working the price. Do a google search on the vin, it might give you some idea how long the car has been sitting on the lot for. If they offer the free carfax, that too should give you an indication when it went up for sale. Even if they don't offer the carfax, call up the dealer and ask them to email or fax you the info. Useful for determining when the vehicle changed hands.
The second link car has typical miles for a 2008. Is it worth a $5K difference (pre-ttl). I'd go for the car with lower miles personally. That being said however, depending what the marginal price difference is, I could probably convince myself to justify a brand new car altogether
Cars with 20K+ miles will definitely need tires. I looked at two recently, an 09 g37s sedan with 22-25K miles (can't remember). The OE re050's were shot. I would not consider the car safe for anything but dry weather driving. Depending how it was driven, brakes might be needed too. If you are very serious about the car, have the dealer rack it and pull the wheels off for you. You should be able to better see how much pad life is left. Take this opportunity to examine the bottom of the car too.
The other I looked at was a '09 g37s convertible. This car had around 12K miles. Tires appeared about 50% worn. I believe the car sustained some sort of damage as the passenger door inner paint didn't look right. Driver side was all glossy and consistent. Pass side was glossy up to a certain point, then matte finished. If I had to guess I'd say it was blended at some point. The car also drove funny. Had a slight pull to the right, and the whole thing shook/vibrated at speeds under 40 mph. Less so at higher speeds. Reading some convertible reviews, that seems to be a common characteristic of the S models. All 4 wheels had severe curb rash too.
If you're not in a hurry to buy, keep cherry picking, you'll find what you're looking for sooner or later.

Funny you mention the tires, I was looking at the cost of the tires and for what I could tell they are about $1200.

true statement... i made sure that to let the dealer know about the slippin. i picked up an 08 6MT last thursday with 40k and revvin jumps then goes down with the clutch engaged... got my appointment this monday for a test drive with one of thier technicians... i hope he won't pull BS on me
I agree with the cherry-picking comment. If you have the luxury of not needing the car immediately, waiting will allow you to both figure out exactly what you want, and then wait for the right price on the right car. I know it gets frustrating and it's not immediate gratification, but in the long run, you'll be glad you waited for that right vehicle. At least that's what I keep telling myself, as I'm in that same position and getting anxious as well!
