Quick note up front ... I'm not trying to sell this car via this forum. I'm not asking for offers. What I'd like are your thoughts on resale value given a special set of circumstances to help inform me as to what to do next.
I have a black 2008 G37S with grey interior, ~28k miles, and all options except 4-wheel steer. I have loved this car, but I've been fighting with a third-party coating company for over a year to honor their paint warranty after bird droppings/sap marred the finish. And now after they've paid to completely repaint the car, I'm thinking about selling and starting over to get the bad taste of the experience out of my mouth.
Car has never been in an accident, has never had a door ding, and has never had any body work done of any kind. Inside is in excellent condition. Mechanically, it's been professionally maintainted at every interval. It's got 2 sets of tires (stock UHP summer and UHP all-seasons with lots of tread left). Window tint. But the entire car has been COMPLETELY repainted (not just touched up, but completely refinished from bumper to bumper, from the ground up). Imagine how tough of a battle this has been with the warranty company for me to win and have the repairs done properly ...
I was able to choose the paint shop and they've done an excellent job. So my questions to you all are, if you were in the market to buy a 2008 G37S, would you pay less or the same for this car as you'd expect to pay for a car with same age/mileage that had not been repainted? Would you consider paying more because the paint is fresh?
The car literally looks better than it did when I bought it. I've also now added 3M to the entire hood, bumper and entire front quarter panels, headlights, mirrors, and just in front of the rear tires (where rocks tend to kick up from front tires). And I've recoated the car again in Resistall. It's gorgeous again and now better protected. Thoughts? I appreciate your input!

I would value it less rather than more.
A repainted car will always carry a stigma. Buyers will never really know why it was done, so a dealer, private party or wholesaler will discount what they offer you. Unless the car was stripped completely apart and repainted, an experienced person can tell it was repainted. And if it was stripped down completely, I personally would worry about fit and finish once everything is put back together. The exception is for a custom color and even then, selling might be hard since it might be a smaller audience. If it looks better than when you bought it, you should keep it.

Thanks for your input, everyone! I'm keeping car ... Love it too much! I know this whole process sounded a bit nuts. Clearcoat actually failed on the car; bird droppings and other environmental stuff etched and ruined clearcoat all over. It was bad, bad, bad -- and on a black car that shows everything. But it's great now!
