Conquest Rebate

To those of you who bought your car earlier this year and received the conquest or loyalty rebate. Did your dealer take the price off of the car when you got it or did you receive a check from them later?

It was an instant rebate which was applied off the price of the car, instead of a check sent later. That's a good thing, because that means they're also deducting the tax value on the $500. For example, 13% tax on $500 is $65, so by deducting $500 off the purchase price pre-tax, you're actually getting $565 off.

Well, mine was in the form a check. Would have been better off applying towards the financed amount, as mentioned, though.

The rebate has expired, but now you get an additional 1% off of financing, so if you are financing most of the car you will still come out way ahead.
