Looks like a good deal. It really is refreshing to me, when I see someone that has done their homework and knows what they want and how to get there.

Sounds high to me. I was always under the impression, with leasing they say you should put down minimum cash as possible. With that said, the car I leased listed out at $45,100. I put down $1100 that's it. 39mos w/12k miles for $447/mo. Just my .02

++ Having leased my 1st car on my own without much research I can vouch that you should put the least possible down!! I solely regret putting so much money on a car that I'm bout to turn in soon! I would say max 2 to 3k down! Any more should be placed in the bank and help you pay for those payments.

BUT, he's putting the $$$ towards his security deposit, which he'll get back at the end of the lease...

if you calculate how much $ per payment he saves and compare it against how much money he put into the security deposit(think savings account) I'll bet the amount he saved is alot more than he would have made if he put the $$ into any other type of investment...

ie. put that 4K into ANY type of account and he'd never earn the money he just saved on payments & he gets the 4k back...
