I really hope it's not lost in transit. For it to not have an update in over a month is concerning. I know we're in the middle of covid but I'm sure it would have been close by now.
If it is any consolation, the holdup is the ISC NY (International Sorting Center New York) division of the USPS. Thanks to this COVID crap they are on a skeleton crew (ie. nobody is working). I have 2 packages from China just sitting there for almost 2 months now. My package from Japan sat there a month and finally got here last week.

Thanks for that. It's nice to learn what actually goes on in regards to international parcel.

My cars half that, remember it's a 2015 model year. The paint definitely looks 12 years old though. The sport lip definitely completes the sport bumper look. I support having one

Crap. I have been waiting on my Nissan steering wheel airbag cover for 2 months now and it took well over a month for it to just clear the Japanese postal service. I got all excited earlier this month when I got an email that it was in NY. Looks like it will be at least another month yet. I thought it was strange that it would go right past me in WI to NY instead of LA. I figured it was just lost on some shipping container in LA harbor.

Whoops, I looked at your signature briefly and just saw the 2008. I agree that your chin spoiler looks good. For some reason the sport bumper on my car just looks weird with the sport lip in white. I think it is that the lines where they meet are so much more distinct on my car. Now that I have to worry about paint fade too I doubt I will try it... at least until I get bored in a year or two of the fact that I have already done every other mod.

I can almost guarantee it is sitting in some container at the ISC warehouse at Idlewild. My engine cover from Japan was here in 4 days pre-COVID while the shifter I ordered from Japan is sitting at JFK for the past month thanks to this COVID nonsense. Our packages will get here. Eventually.

I bet you are right. And so, we wait....
Ironically, I also ordered some Nissan badges from Japan and noticed that the shipping costs were pretty high. Turns out it was worth it because they arrived in a few days because they were air shipped via DHL.

Plus the sport lip is "heftier" looking than non sport so that fresh newly painted white lip will look more prominent in our faded paint. Not sure if you can remove yellowing from paint like you can with headlights. Now that I type this, they're totally two different things. Ignore me. Lol
I recently ordered puddle lights for my car, I have to drill holes for mine did you drill holes as well? and the conversion looks good man so far I jus did my front end and rear emblems haven't got my hands on the interior parts yet

Yep drilled right into the sideskirts. The kit comes with a template that you can use but you have to adjust accordingly in relation to the holes and other things on the sideskirt. I also used a spade drill bit since it made a cleaner hole instead of a normal drill bit.
How did you remove your steering wheel cover? It looks like I may need a special torx security bit for the airbag bolts accessed through the side of the steering wheel if those need to be removed or loosened. I seem to remember someone saying that needed to be done. Thanks!
You will need a Torx T30 bit to remove the two (2) torx bolts:
Once you remove the airbag module from the steering wheel you will have this:
From there you will have to unclip the cover from the airbag module frame. You will then have something like this:
Installation is the reverse of removal.
I will state the obvious: ¹) disconnect your main battery and wait at least 5-10 minutes BEFOREtouching anything SRS related, and
²) be careful when unlocking the black tabs on the orange and yellow connectors. They can easily snap off. Just lightly pry them and they will pop up.
Let's get back to the modding!! I recently just became a first time Dad to a beautiful baby girl and I couldn't be happier. So while I was enjoying some father daughter time I finally purchased the OEM DRLs. They came in today and i can't wait to install them. Reading the instructions it looks very labor intensive so that's something to look forward to as well I guess. Will update as soon as they're installed.
And they're installed. Holy S*$_& was it a long day. I started at 930 and didn't finish till 4. I mostly took my time but not having a dremel was the real time consumer. I used a hole saw and trimmed the rest with a box cutter. Not the best but it worked. That's all that matters. I also want to thank, nishalp for his DIY on this install. His pics along with the actually easy Infiniti instructions helped a ton.
To continue with my trend of finding the best prices/deals in OEM parts. This part ended up being the most expensive but yet the most discounted at the same time. I found these for a total of $421.06 shipped from Infiniti of Orland Park in Illinois. This is the second time I've purchased stuff from them and I've been very satisfied with both pricing and speed of shipment.
Starting price for these are $640. Orland Park had it for $540. Compile that with the discount code from Infiniti parts and I saved a beautiful $235 of the MSRP. Not complaining.
Hyper Daytime Running Lights. Daytime Running Lights Non-Sport With A/T
Part# B66M0-1NF01
How it looked after about 30mins in. Taking the bumper off has become second nature now.
Ended up removing my entire battery to get to the IPDM (Black box on the left) easier. Made for a cleaner wire setup as well.
The "brains" of the DRLs. The kit comes with this FYI. It's not pre-installed in case you were wondering.
The instructions call for you run a wire through the hood release cable to the parking brake. This is a pic of the new plugs
Cut-out template. Thought it was funny that it said \"G35"
Plastic shavings everywhere. Note the box cutter. Lol
How it looks infront of 7-11. BTW don't eat those 99cent sliders. They look disgusting.
Overall it was a pretty easy install. Only nerve racking part was dealing with the IPDM and wiring it up. It's a simple process but I'm not good with electrical work. I don't think this kit was really worth $400. It would be more justifiable to me if it was $300 or $350. Either way it's better than $640 and it adds a nice modern touch to the car and sets me apart from the million other G37s in NY
Next on my list:

Airlift Performance Air Suspension

Happy New Year everyone!! Hope your holidays were great and you stayed safe. Let's begin 2021 with some new goodies from Japan. My search for JDM goodies lately has slowed down but it still hasn't stopped me from scoring some rare parts for great prices. And to continue with the trend of getting as good as possible for as reasonable as possible I present to you my latest "wins"
Starting with my first win, I found an OEM Nissan engine cover for the V36 Skyline on Croooober.com. I found this site back in October and I find it better than Jauce.com based off the simple fact that it tells how much shipping will cost up front. Jauce lets you know how much shipping will cost after Jauce receives your winning bid plus Jauce storage fees. You live and you learn.
An engine cover for a whopping $9? Can't be, there has to be a catch. The catch was shipping cost. It cost me $86 to ship to the states so total for my engine cover came out to $95even. Buyer beware though, another engine cover I found on this same site cost $17 but shipping was an outrageous $600+!!! How is that even possible?
My cover came in a very quick 4 days via DHL and looked perfect despite usual wear and tear. Very happy!
Out with the US and in with the JP
No surprise, the cover installed easily with no issues.
About a month later I came across the center console clock up for sale. Without hesitation it was purchased as I've been looking for one for awhile
$32 plus a shipping cost of $40 netted me a total cost of $72. I mean $72 for a clock that doesn't even say Nissan or Skyline in the center, nor something that will stand out worth it? I don't know. Maybe? It's still better than a new OEM price of $442. Lol.
Again, this "Rolex" clock was shipped via DHL and arrived at my doorstep within 3 days of purchase. Some Amazon prime packages don't even come that quick for me so I'm definitely happy with Croooober and their fast shipping.
I found it interesting that it came in plastic packaging as if it was at some store hanging on a peg hook. I automatically thought it was a fake but does it really matter since again it doesn't stand out much?
Install was easy for me as I've torn apart my interior plenty of times before to paint my trim pieces. They're actually painted in Nissan paint code K23(Liquid Platinum) as a ode to my old G35x.
I've been doing some research on this and thought about buying a whole Skyline CPU that actually says Nissan on the start-up but I'm not really sure if it's actually plug and play since I cant find much information. Most used CPUs I've seen on Jauce and Croooober range from $150-$400. I'm definitely not willing to take that loss so back to researching I go.
For my swap, I would say I'm about 90% done with all the Infiniti badging after these two installs. I still have the floor carpets and trunk carpet as well as the start up screen. My ultimate goal for the car is to swap all badging but keep certain US spec things like the speedometer and English navigation controls. I guess you can call it the USDM Nissan Skyline 370GT.
Shipping costs are ridiculously high because EMS JapanPost still refuses to ship to the US via air mail. DHL is really the only game in town and they are way overpriced to begin with (IMO). IIRC, the total cost for my JDM engine cover was ≈$50 ($10 actual cost, $20 shipping EMS JapanPost, and the rest fees and surcharges).
I was unaware that croooober shipped to the US. I'll have to look into them. I used Jauce once... too many questionable fees and charges... again, live and learn.
Forget the AV unit. The JDM wiring is totally different, the NAV maps will be useless, terrestrial radio will likely not work, and the ENTIRE interface is in Japanese. About the most you can get away with is the NAV switch (dial one). That is plug-and-play.
If all you want is the "Nissan" splash screen, you could probably get away with a headunit from a Maxima or Altima. In fact, even the headunits from the 370Z and the R35 GT-R are direct fits physically and electronically.
Thanks for the update!
