there are multiple issues in the VVEL system that need to be taken care of first before you can safely rev the heads past 7900 RPM. The rod bolts also become suspect above 8000 RPM so it is best not to spin one that high.

That said, I am working on getting the parts needed to safely increase the rev limit but the parts for the VVEL system do not exist at the moment. MA and JWT are working on this now

Been chatting with the guys on the 370z board about revving past 8k
doesn''t look good so i hope JWT and MAmotorspots will have the parts by the time i want to do this.. if not i"m going to delay getting the cam install..

After talking to my turner and seeing what the cost where just to raise the limiter a few hundred RPMs I figured the money would be better spent elsewhere.
So I decide to go with a supercharger and a air to air kit when the cam gets installed..

Welp, so much for N/A ambitions, LOL.

Are you going back to the tall gears after the SC install, or wait and see? I was always under the impression that if you add FI to a NA car, then short gears become a hindrance.

Why is that, Chuckie? What's the rationale convincing enough to get you to restock already purchased Z1 mounts and start over with BDE? Both are approx $200, so there must be something about BDE that made you jump.

Brett Dempsey Engineering - Billet + Polyurethane Z32, Z33/V35, Z34/V36 Engine Mounts and R35/GT-R Transmission Mounts

Hmm, really? I wonder... is it the linear nature of the supercharger compared to a turbo that's gets him to have that opinion? In full disclosure, I have zero expertise on the topic, but everything I've read leads me to think stock gears were better suited so that FI has space to do its thing. And if you go serious boost, you actually want taller gears for time and traction. I mean, even your own graphs above show your curve shifting left after the 4.083 swap.

I go with what my tuner recommends he said BDE mounts are better..
I have 0 knowledge on building cars for FI but if my tuner says to stay with the 4.08 gears that’s what I go with.. I’m guessing since the supercharger’s power is more top end the gears help off the line acceleration..who know things might change and he could recommend taller gears after he sees what kinda power it makes..won’t know until that time comes
SEB is my tuner and does all the work on my car so whatever he recommends I go with since he builds these cars daily and knows everything about them.

OK, that was disappointing. I was hoping for insight and opinions, info, discussion... something more. Huh.

Welp, good luck with all that. And if you have something to say about these motor mounts after the install, I know there are a few people who would be interested in reading about the experience. Please do.

At the very least, this is the first time I've heard about BDE, so that's something, and thanks for that.
