You've been bringing some next-level fabrication skills to this project.
Haha, thanks. I had something more ambitious planned, but ended up going with something simpler and cleaner. Originally was going to make those shields actuated with a switch, but there isn't enough realestate there to make it work.

Great work! I can't help but ask if you considered filter socks as they would be the most efficient at stopping rain.

I have, but the z1 filters are oddly long, so finding something that fits with no modification is a bit more tedious. This stuff I just build from stuff laying around my workshop. Lol. I know you can get a set of long filter covers for like $15 CAD a pop, but whatever... this way is more fun and more unique lol.
I think I enjoy the discovery and build process more than using common sense solutions.
Feels like a lot of your recent progress has been elsewhere in the forum, because I know you're been still doing stuff. Exhaust modifications, specifically.
Based on your activity over the last few years, if I were a betting man I'd wager next summer you're going to ditch your entire cat-back configuration for a full GTHaus setup. And 50/50 whether you'd go titanium or SS. No, scratch that, make it 20/80. Just a guess.

Hahaha, perhaps if the car was a bit newer, only summer driven, etc. The WANT is there, but it would be completely irresponsible of me.
I saw that in your other post this morning. I think you'd be very happy with all that. Sounds great, IMO. Very deep and burbly (word?) And I love that video edit thing you did with the chalkboard and the Polaroids.
But I don't understand this fascination with "cold starts" that people do. I don't ever want to hear my car on a cold start. Sounds like a diesel.

Nice job! I have a 2010 G37x sedan and am also looking for a new black grill...trying to find a mesh that matches the bottom mesh...any ideas where I might look?

the same abs plastics mesh I used would be perfect. It's the same mesh style and scale. It also feels a lot sturdier than the metal thin stuff.
It's a sleeve over the aluminum one, the wall thickness at the narrowest part is just 1mm. It's just long in order to cover the whole shaft. I'm going to shorten the top by another 5 mm, feels a bit too oval in the hand. It didn't look as girthy when I had the **** 1 cm larger in diameter, but it felt awkward. Proportions right now aren't perfect, but it feels great. More modifications and testing to come till I get it perfect.
