Well, you'll be saving a bit of cash and get that MT shifting proper, sounds like a win-win.
And then you can DIY the RJM for all your new found G buddies that live nearby

100% right! It'd be nice to make a few bucks installing stuff!

GL with the pedal install. Since I had a mechanic friend do the work, I really don't have any advice beyond what you can glean from this thread here:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...-assembly.html

...with my actual review in post #55.

When installed, configured properly and to your liking, it will make driving your car so-o-o much easier. 1-2-3 shifts will be smoother, and the days of jerking the car in first gear will be behind you.

Just over halfway done with the install! Had to take a break to run to the apple store to figure out why my macbook pro won't turn on. I assume they will need to ship it off for something to get repaired. Lol if it's not one thing its another.

OH! I changed my oil yesterday and while rolling around on the ground to jack the car up I noticed this... Another reason why you should never cheap out in tires. Less than 6 thousand miles on them. I kept telling the dealer these were not a safe tire. A buddy of mine had these and he had a blow out on the highway. The tread is fine but now I need to replace all 4 tires. Probably for the best they are literally garbage.

Nankang. I did not buy them and I know the dealer did not install them. I tried to tell the dealer these were garbage tires. Told me oh well our tires cost XXX.XX for a set. I will be going through Tire Rack, looking at Toyo Proxes r1r, proxes 1, potenza re-11, potenza re-11A, or PSS. Will look at prices and reviews sometime tomorrow!

Done with the install! Honestly it was not TOO bad. It is intimidating if you view the instructions without looking at the car, but RJ does a great job with his written instructions. A few times I thought a better pic would have helped a lot, but all in all I have delt with MUCH worse. As for the clutch pedal... It is awesome! The car should have came with an adjustable pedal, or something that actually gives you feed back, from the factory!

I am now getting a strange noise upon the end of the starting cycle. I'm not sure if the noise if from the oil being thick (only 60 degrees so doubtful) or if I installed the pedal wrong, more likely needs adjusting.

In the attached video, you can hear a screech at the end of starting the car. The car did not do this before I installed the clutch. Could it be the clutch disk is not pulled far enough away from the fly wheel and making a quick noise? In neutral, the car does not creep forward on level ground so I'm not sure if the clutch disk is barely touching the fly wheel?

Nice! After scrubbing them in a bit (around 300 miles) they should be sticking like glue.

Well Wanna Go Fast was a success! Car ran great, even though I'm positive I had the slowest times of the event. I would have been shocked otherwise. Will post pics and videos later.

Found out my clutch fluid was low, like just below the min line. Wondering what could be the cause of that. Assuming the reputable dealer topped all fluids off, what would cause the fluid to drop that low in 6,000 miles? Wondering if its the slave cylinder? Might explain why I sometimes grind gears when driving very aggressively. Owned my g35 for six years and literally scratched a gear once.

Dropping her off at the dealer tomorrow for them to do miscellaneous work, TSB's and so forth.

Uh oh.

Do you still have your original slave cylinder? If you can afford the preemptive strike, purchase the Z1 CSC.

I'm honestly not sure. I need to ask for a full service history while I'm at the dealer. Thanks for the info!

Mine crapped out at only 18K miles. It was still under warranty, and I was leaving for vacation the next day, so it's with some regret that I went with the OEM replacement.

I think failure might be different case-by-case. For me, I had zero warning that there was a problem, when one afternoon the clutch pedal went weak over a few pumps, then just dropped right to the floor. I was very fortunate to just having pulled into a shopping plaza parking lot, so pulled it into neutral and coasted to a an empty section. It was very unnerving, let me tell you. Been well over a year since, and I still don't trust it completely anymore.

Damn $450! I'll stay OEM until I replace the clutch and other mods, but I am favoriting it. As promised here are some pics from the event as well as other random stuff I've been neglecting to post.

Damn serious rides there, looks like a fun day for sure. Did you get any time on your new tires or are they still pending?

Yep I got them installed the night before! Probably not the best timing, but I feel confident they are now broken in lol. Unfortunatly they did not post times, but mph. That's fine with me though! I'll post mph's tonight.
