in other news, i made an impulse buy recently with some parts in Japan. As far as i know they will be a first on a G so we'll see how it turns out lol. Have also been thinking of resurrecting an old diffuser idea i had started a few months ago.. i had made a template, although i have also not been in the mood to spend too much on the G lately..

kind of hard to tell, but you can see below the first draft which turned out to be too wide (the outer sections relative to the main inner channel). it should look good length and height-wise though. the real problem is the Tomei is so big i would need to cut a large portion of the driver's side in order to mount the damn thing

I'm actually looking to Re-Badge my G37s... to exactly what you got. i found the 370gt badge and the nissan badges but cant find SKYLINE anywhere.. any suggestion?

over the holidays i decided i would finally take care of the oil gallery gaskets to have some peace of mind since i planned on tracking the car a lot more this year. what was intended to be a chill job turned into a headache after i replaced the gaskets and put everything back together only to realize my timing had skipped and the car would not start

so i took everything off again, reset timing (and probably turned the motor by hand at least 20x to make sure it was right ), then reinstalled for the 2nd time and success -- car fired up right away with no other issues

as you can see, the upper gallery wasn't bad but the very corner had already started to fail. lower gasket was completely intact and none of the screws were loose. the eps kit is definitely high quality and having the new hex bolts is nice
now i just need to fully bleed to coolant. i took the time to replace the rear stock plastic heater hose coupler with a dorman metal one since i was already in there. besides that, gave everything a much needed clean and went full honda spoon ricer mode and painted my valve covers yellow lol

added some bling and rinsed down the engine bay even though its raining this entire week in the bay. too bad the strut bar and intakes could use some detailing but otherwise im really liking the polished look of the tomei oil cap and hks rad cap in contrast with the freshly painted valve and front timing covers
it reminds me how ugly the vq is lol so i've decided a future project i'm going to tackle will be to do a partial tuck to clean up the horrendous stock wiring

also added the innovate oil gauge. the cheap ebay tee fitting for the pressure sensor didnt work out so i ended up ordering this ktuned adapter which is not only way better quality but also let me position the gauge sensor right where i needed it since space down by the oil filter is already so cramped with the sandwich plate and an lines

for the temp sensor i used this pre tapped an fitting on the hot side of the oil cooler. fit perfectly and it let me route the wiring up with the headlight harness to keep it all tidy

current view of the interior. decided to mount the gauge down by the AC controls. easy to view even with the steering wheel on and didnt need to extend the wires or anything complicated like that

next i need to get around to installing my spl tie rods before getting the car aligned again

thanks! sadly it's been a while since i've been to the track and had also just lost interest in both driving and modifying the G in general. i can't go anywhere in this car anymore without someone trying to race me or driving hella stupid trying to get my attention when i just wanna chill

anyways i'm feeling a bit more motivated to check things off my to-do list lately at least

that being said, i hope you guys like pics lol. latest update for the car is that i finally repaired my front end that had been slowly falling apart after someone backed into me in a parking lot breaking off a piece of my canard plus i also bottomed out destroying my front splitter at the last track day ..
this is pretty much what it was looking like. you can see the bumper was cracking all over and there actually wasnt much left in some places. got to the point it where it was embarrassing to look at lol

so fast forward almost a year and here is what it looks like now. i would say im ~90% happy with how it looks but i do kinda wish i took the time to make some more revisions to the design since i do feel like it could definitely be better. either way it's gonna stay like this til it either falls apart again or i really get tired of it

new canards fresh out the mould ready to get cleaned up and trimmed

slightly smaller profile than my last set and only ~160g or 0.35lbs ! and since i was in the composites making mood, i decided to make a custom radiator duct that would fit flush with the new bumper. because i wanted to retain the oem bumper, radiator support, and ps cooler for now i ended up making it a 2 piece design so it can be un/installed *relatively* easily. here is the test fit. i shouldve taken a photo of it off the car first but o well. still need to line up and trim the center deflector but overall quite happy with it

and with the bumper installed, a nice smooth transition with almost no gaps

oh and planning on retrofitting the new 2024 nissan emblem to the front grill. i like the glossy black compared to the all chrome jdm emblem but sometimes i think it's also maybe slightly too big. thoughts?

finally signed up for laguna again in august after a very long hiatus so have been putting in work to fix or tidy up a bunch of small things ion my list before hitting the track
one thing that had been bugging me for a while was the previous oil cooler set up, so after picking up a Toyo 10 row cooler for practically free i decided to use it as an upgrade for the PS and move everything inside the radiator duct

luckily they were both exactly the right size to fit without any modification. just had to make a couple brackets to secure them in place

didnt even have to remake any of the braided lines and was able to run them neatly along the oem location

the only snag was that the oil cooler was ever so slightly too tall and i had to make a notch in the ducting to let the highest section poke through. pretty happy with the fitment from the duct onto the front of the radiator

and the final set up with the oem bumper bar attached

next i have to remake my front splitter and do an alignment..

appreciate it!
no real plans for power in the near future. i still have a lot more to go before my skills as a driver can max out the performance of the car at the track in its current state so it will remain na for now

after 6 years i finally finished and installed both sides of my "z tune" style vented fenders. theyre definitely not perfect show quality but overall decently happy with how they came out..
8/10 on fitment
7/10 on paint match
but at least 10/10 on the look i was going for lol

the current set up without the front splitter. also finally installed the spl tie rods. please excuse the bad quality phone pics
