Hello :hello:

My name is Sergio and I live in the Bay Area. I finally decided to start this thread after a couple months of owning my car to track my progress. For now, it's gone through a couple minor changes since i first posted in the Newby section here:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/newbie-...area-g37s.html

My dad and i have done all the installation work ourselves in our garage so you'll notice all the pics i have right now are just outside of it lol. I will eventually find the time to take decent ones elsewhere

Here's the first picture i have of the car as we drove it home after buying it

Attachment 185943

A couple weeks later and i had already started receiving packages at the door

Attachment 185944

While getting ready to remove the stock struts, i took the time to do some DIY caliper painting thanks to breftayka's guide.

Attachment 185945

Suspension was the first thing to get installed. Here's my dad helping with some stubborn bolts

Attachment 185946
Attachment 185947
Attachment 185948

Found the time in between to paint my headlight housings black

Rode around with the BC coils for maybe 100 miles while i waited for my new rims and tires to show up. I originally planned on getting my Rays in gunmetal but they weren't in stock anywhere so i decided to go with black and plastidip them white :D

In the meantime, i ordered some cheap daily tires which i will replace with some good rubber before hitting the track

Finally!

Attachment 185933

Test fitting the front and rears

Attachment 185934
Attachment 185935

Then after some painting

Attachment 185936

Tires got here soon after

Attachment 185937

I had originally planned on re-using my GodSpeed aluminum open ended extended lug nuts since they are ridiculously light but didn't realize the threading was different from my old Honda they were coming from. So i ordered some temporary Muteki nuts from Amazon while i decide what to replace them with

Attachment 185938

Everything installed (these are recent and hence the really dirty wheels :icon27: )

During all of this, the interior stripping had already begun. I don't have many pictures of the weight reduction process but here is the most recent one i took right before getting another special package :)

Attachment 185926

Then these finally came in

The OEM seats must have weighed a good 90lbs each.. I need to get them on the scale soon. This seat and rail combo come in at a whopping 40lbs together. Unfortunately, passenger rails are backordered from Bride til late June along with the matching seat. I still need to clean up where the back seats used to be.

And that's basically how the car sits now

Haven't seen many of these go full blown track car build, but definitely like the progress. Why a G for a track car though? Instead on like a z33 or even a v35?

Why not? :)

Nice setup you're putting together Sergio, looks like you're well on your way to getting that ready for some hot laps!
Impressive list of parts there.

That's exactly why! :) The easy way out would have been to choose something like a BRZ, Z33/34, S13/14, etc. but those builds are so common i would have gotten bored fast. I also contemplated going with an STI or Evo but in the end I wanted to do something different and stand out from the crowd, so i decided to go with the more unconventional CV36 chassis

this is a Purist 1 of 1 prototype front bumper lol. I made it from fiberglass and this picture is from a couple days ago after only trimming part of the edges. I have a lot more work to do before its ready but i felt it was finally time to let you guys in on my little project :) it had actually been sitting in my garage like that for almost 2 months now and was just too lazy to work on it lol

Wow, that custom bumper is going to be wild, look forward to seeing you work magic on that one
Not a fan of the big single exhaust but if it's working out for you than kudos!
