need to decide if i want to warranty it or to use the white line bushing.
Can you do both with your dealership? Probably not... they would have to do some creative bookkeeping.
I was about to buy the Whiteline Diff Bushing in piecemeal purchases towards a new gear & pinion. So in a purely self-interest sort of way, I'd love to see you go through it first.
The part that worries me about the replacement bushing is the pinion angle and how guys are running the front pieces. Some upside down etc.
I need to go trough that thread again and see if I can just only use the bushing and use the oem rubber up front so that it won't mess with the angle.

Hmm. 28K on my 2011 6MT. That blown bushing does seem common on the boards, just like the CSC on the 6MT.
Are you over-reacting? No, just trying to get informed. Me too. This might be the fourth time I've read that thread, and I'm not even going to do the work. If you're worried about the shaft angle and vibration noises, post #63 stood out to me.
Why am I wanting to change my gears? The car is fine as-is, (as you would very specifically know, all things being somewhat equal between our cars), but I'd love some more grunt in second gear and off the line. 4.08's seem like a slam-dunk power mod for the low-end, and I'm fairly sure they would dovetail well into how I like to drive it. I don't experience a lot of highway miles, and only drive 5k/year, so mileage and gas isn't an issue.
right but this guy went against the instructions put the thick on top. where are others did the opposite as instructed by whiteline and yielded the same results.. *sigh* lol
i'll keep a look out on your thread about your gear swap.. dont forget to post about it
got a set of art pipes but i have a gasket question. here's the header end
it didnt come with hardware so i got the hardware kit online for $40
now here's where my over researching gets me in trouble.. the documentation on the hardware kit stated to use RTV but from this source ( link )
which is what i got in the kit.
but from here ( link ) it appears in one of the pics that the installer is using the crush ring seal together with a Z1 gasket.
I'm not opposed to using the gasket, i just want to know whats the proper way to install the pipes.. will the combination of Z1 and crush ring interfere with each other?
WAIT! its not over yet.. in continuously pondering the Z1 gaskets are $40
( link ) where as the Fast Intentions ones are $25 ( link )
i've been contemplating it more and more recently.. i just dont know if i'll be able to throw her into a corner like i currently do and drive aggressively like i do.
ultimate thought is to keep the teins and slap bags onto it, not sure if i want to use Airlift struts
I would talk you out of air but... my car is going in next Monday for an AirLift 3H setup with AirLift Performance struts. So yeah haha.
How did the install go? What's your impressions? Any pics?
It got delayed. The shop is super popular and their workload caught up with them. Going in on the 21st *fingers crossed*. In the meantime I went ahead and ordered a F.I. 2.5" CBE w/ 18" res. and ART pipes but we all know how bad the back up at F.I. is. So it's a waiting game.
