Robert_K's Build Thread (G37S)
Last December, I drove Choman's 6MT Sedan, with the FI catback matched against their RHFC, and it was real nice. There's drone because there just has to be, but it's very pleasant (to me), and there's nothing awkward about it at all. No rattle, no rasp, just a fantastic sound. If anything, I think it could be louder still. FI makes a worthy product.
However, for what it's worth, I'm still thinking ARK over FI for the catback.

Are the Stillen headers direct replacements for the OEM shorties? I've not come across a lot of interest in those on this forum yet... But admittedly I haven't done my research into that either.
What is it about the Stillen headers that's got your attention?
What the hell, Robert? That takes all the fun out of it.

Yes the Stillen headers are a direct replacement. I confirmed with Stillen and I believe FI months ago they fit the sedan. I think a lot of people don't gain interest in them is due to installation, cost, and minimum gains. However anytime you increase intake/exhaust flow you'll see gains with tuning. Haven't read much on the headers with a tune. None-the-less my original goal for my sedan was N/A bolt-ons with the possibility of supercharging. Headers will be very beneficial if I go that last mentioned route.
I'm ready to be "done" with it because my other hobby is taking up more of my money and time. But I won't rule out gear and Quiafe after this step.

I sold my Z in December. Wish I never built it or bought the G and went straight to the V. Oh well lived and learn. Think I have a year left on my lease for the G so we'll see what the future hold.

I'm not sour on either car. I enjoy both of them very much and they served my needs for the time. However they are just underpowered for me. Well after building the Z is was a good power level. But the money, time, and stress to get there was exhausting.

You have a car that's easy better than 95% of cars on the road today in terms of automotive performance, but that's somehow underpowered because what you really want is a car that's over the 99.9 percentile, which the CTS-V certainly qualifies. Does that about sum it up? I mean, I don't fault you that ambition. I get it, I really do. But by no stretch of the imagination is the G37 "underpowered". That was silly.
Wait... are you leasing?

Let me get this straight; and I'm going to pull numbers out of my dookie by way of explanation.

The G37 is a GREAT car. And for it's class I think the best buy. Why I went with it. While other cars like the BMW 3 series or Audi 4 series uses better quality parts, not saying Infiniti uses bad parts just the Germans uses better than Infiniti, the German cars are overpriced with less features. You get more for you money with Infiniti. "I" just need more power.
Yes I'm leasing. I knew I would want something different in a couple years and it has became that time.
When you're into cars, that's exactly what leasing is for... a way to move on without looking back. Kind of like asking your GF to move out because you never intended to marry her in the first place. Doesn't mean the sex wasn't good.
What are the CTS forums like? I imagine the V owners and the non-V owners don't mix well.
