As much as I like those triangular pieces of gloss black at the top, those are actually transparent windows providing side-marker lighting for the little amber bulb behind them. So that would stay as-is.

The amber reflector on the side looks really interesting painted the same color as the housing, and does provide a nice opportunity for the OneEighty decal. I could do without the reflector. It's an Infiniti, not a Schwinn.

Nix on the LED halo. I think halos belong on BMW, and it's a lighting mod that I would never see being the driver. Don't care.

And I think I'd like the projector rings to remain chrome.

So really... what I'm liking here is a pretty basic mod. I wonder what OneEighty wants for that kind of configuration? Probably my left leg and a bucket of gold.

They disclose price breakdowns, which I think is nice. Makes it easy to figure out what you want and what you're willing to pay for.

I didn't know they had a vendor thread. Thanks, buddy.

And now something to pour over. Awesome.

^ It sounds like you are just wanting to paint the housings of the lights. That is definitely something you can DIY with an oven, some VHT paint, and butyl tape. If you do decide to take this endeavor I would suggest STI-R lenses and the projector shield mod as well (if you are ok with using a dremel).

This^^would be a great project for your fall/winter down time, and we all know you can do it John
The STi-R lenses alone are an awesome upgrade, and like Tony said, getting that projector shield cleaned up will give you an incredibly sharp cutoff.

Maybe, Brad.

Fact is, I'm not rushing into dropping the bumper until I upgrade from the R2C to the Takeda long-tube, and that's not in the works until 2017. So all I'm really doing here is some window shopping.

Damn! Thats what I want to do. Paint the inside of the lights! I baked the OEM Hella lights from my BMW and it was un nerving for sure! Not sure I want to relive that experience just yet.

Truth be told I'd rather not ever do it again, it is time consuming and a bit unnerving like you said. The main issue I had was the initial separation of the clear cover from the housing. I tried prying it up all around in many places. I found it was SO much easier getting them nice and warm, then putting a lot of pressure on one corner until you got it to pull apart a little bit, then reheat and only pull up in the section that already started to lift, it peeled back very easy and didn't leave the pry marks all along the edge like my first attempt.
It's definitely a project that you should set aside at least a full weekend for all the drying time and not to be rushed.
Even though it's a PITA it's one of the most worthwhile and dramatic mods as far as the effect it has on the overall look of your front end. And the STiR lens is awesome in looks and light transmission.

This one here has more of the simple elements that I'm liking, ignoring the halo. The rear parking light lenses are clear, and the main projector shroud is OEM chrome. It looks like the assembly is painted in matte black, and while I think I'd like a lighter color gray, I do like the matte look. In fact, the more I consider this mod, the more I'm backing away from any colored eyelid, and even the OneEighty decal. They both make a great, artistic first impression, but none of that is OEM-ish. This headlight here in this picture, that could be OEM to the untrained eye.

That's a curious thing, seeing that ribbed strip of chrome under the projector lens. I've noticed that was a recurring theme in a number of custom headlights. I wonder what that is all about? I suspect it contributes to the overall lighting effect of the projector lens, but IDK really.

One of the best mods I have done to my car. Matte black housing will look good on any color but on moonlight white it's so much win. Left the projectors untouched, it gives a nice contrast.

Based on a discussion in another thread, I suspect that chrome is there to prevent the paint from bubbling off due to sunlight being focused on that spot by the projector lens during the day.

Why didn't you leave the chrome around the turn-signal? I think I would want that to match the projector shroud, even though it's only a partial design. Either way, antirce, thanks for the heads-up pic. Pretty sure I'd want matte dark-gray instead of matte black. But that's very close. Thanks.

Ah, OK. The projector lens acts as a magnifying glass. Interesting. Thanks for the answer.
