Slight Vibration in Steering Wheel

Hello All!
I haven't had my G37X very long and I just noticed a small amount of vibration in the steering wheel at high speeds (over 70 MPH). It's subtle and didn't notice it until I was on a longer road trip. I had my wheels and tires checked and balanced but it didn't go away. Is this normal for the AWD version or is this something that can be resolved?

Not endemic to the G. You need a road force balance or have the wheels checked for run-out. It could be the start of belt separation, too, but that's the lowest probability cause.

I second the recommendation of a road force balance. If they know what they are doing this should fix the problem. That being said, I have had problems like this that did not go away until I replaced tires.

I had them check again and they did rebalance 3 of the tires. It seemed to help but it's not completely gone. I think you may be right about the tires. I'll look them up. I bet they're just cheap tires. I haven't owned the vehicle very long and they're what was on it when I got it.

Do you have the original Infiniti wheels or are they aftermarkets? If they aren't originals and the aftermarkets don't have hub adapter rings that is a likely cause for the vibration you're experiencing.

The wheels are still OEM. I checked and the tires are Uniroyal Tiger Paw AS65 and from what I could tell they're just cheap Wal-Mart tires. Is this my problem?

Try swapping the tires front-to-back and see if that changes the vibration. If so, you most likely have a tire issue.

I had a similar issue with a previous car and it turned out there was a dent in the rim. It was on the inside of the tire so not easily noticed.

I did as suggested and swapped the tires front-to-back. I think this may have solved the problem. I haven't had an opportunity to drive at higher speeds for any length of time but assuming that the vibration is gone I guess it's safe to assume that there is either a tire or wheel problem of some sort on one of the two tires/wheels that are now on the back.
