"S" package dilemma

I like the seats in the standard G37 - they are incredibly comfortable!

I find the sport seats in the G37S feel too firm and tight.

I like the bumper of the standard G37 much better than the bumper of the G37S model.

HOWEVER:

These are the features of the G37S that I like a lot:

* Sport-tuned suspension
* Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD)
* 14.7:1 sport-tuned steering gear
I can't really lease a G37S and switch out the bumper and seats.

So my dillema is - how expensive would it be for me to get aftermarket mechanical upgrades to my base G37 that match the mechanical upgrades in the S package?

The difference in the wheels and big breaks are not a big factor for you?

I thought the braking on the standard model was good - no complaints at all.

I have some specific wheels in mind that I want to put on my G (attached to this post) so I don't care at all what type of wheels come on this car.

If you are happy with less quality then that's up to you to enjoy it. The only option I wanted was 6mt, but that includes the sport package. It came with aftermarket wheels, so I spent extra to get the stock wheels back. The BBK is also another big plus! I think the "standard" brakes look cheap. I also prefer the "old" sport bumper and side skirts. The base ones are far too high off the ground.
Just my opinion.
I think most if not all of the sports come with the premium package also. I love my heated seats and blue tooth.

I did a quick Google search. It looks like the Eibach Pro Kit is basically lowering springs. Is this correct or is it a suspension upgrade as well?

Sorry I know very little about aftermarket suspensions - usually I just know I like the suspensions on the auto sport packages.

Eibachs are mainly for lowering. They will maintain a suspension very similar to OEM

So are H&R coilovers available for the G37 coupe that will give me a suspension like an M3 or C63 AMG?

h&r are springs. your best bet is just to go with the sport model, if your leasing it im sure its not much extra. cant you order one to your liking?

On my old '08 coupe I got the journey, and did the suspension and brakes myself. I can assure you, the daily performance of the brakes is NO different. The akebono brakes look amazing, but thats about it for normal drivers. Unless you're going to the track on the week end, the brakes are purely cosmetic. As for the suspension I added Tanabe springs for a slightly lowered ride, and went with Stillen sway bars and GT-Spec STB. The car handled like a dream!

Digging up an old thread but does anyone know if the sport steering can be swapped into a nonsport?

I'm debating between a sport and an X, and I'll probably go with the X but I would love quicker steering in it. I'm guessing the AWD will probably be a huge design difference in the front over the regular sport which is RWD..

Thanks in advance!

I'm not 100% certain but I doubt it can be done without some work. Certainly not easily.
