Yeah with the low profile and stiftness of our sidewalls even with stock tires looking really tells you nothing.

i got a set of summer wheel and a set of winter wheel

My TPMS lights up after i put my summer set on, brought it to the dealer they said it needs to be reprogrammed.
they wanted $65 for it

They also said later in the winter when i put my winder set same thing will happen again.

Since i only average 4000miles a year, i guess i will be cheap and skip the $130/year.

Or you can get one of these for $150 bucks and do it yourself in 5 mins.

You can also manually reset it yourself with this hack thread
Read carefully.

thanks!

indeed i read the hack thread before - way to advance for me.

and thanks for the info on the DIY gadget! i will think about it.

Given the TPMS on G only warn us when 1 of the 4 tires has low pressure (my old 350Z tells the individual tire pressure) i dont mind going to the gas station and top up the air once a week or so. however it does trigger my OCD with the orange ! TPMS light goes off constantly (starting to get used to it now)

an off topic question, i got one of the pen style tire pressure thingy, i notice when i plug it in fast, the tip will shoot out and overs >50psi, when if i plug it in slowly, it should show a different PSI, so pretty much i keep getting different PSIs with multiply tries each time.

what is the correct way to record the reading?

Should i invest one of the mobile air pump with pressure reading gauge?

Use the slower method. The gauge itself doesn't matter all that much as long as you use the same one. Someone tested gauges and found the pencil type to be surprisingly accurate and consistent.

Does anyone know if there are any types of indirect-to-direct TPMS conversions for the G?

7 years later, someone figured out how to get live tire pressures on the G37:
