7 or 8 below what? Does it have a specific # that it uses and then warns if dropped below that #? Do we reset it after we change the tire pressure?

7 or 8 PSI below the pressure the tires are supposed to be inflated to. On my '08 Coupe with 19" wheels this is 35 PSI. It differs for different models.

It doesn't need to be reset if it gets low and you fill it back up. After you've driven the car just a bit it reads the pressure and the indicator goes off.

Ya you got to get the FX for it to tell you the pressure in each tire.

Whatever you do, don't mess with the sensor/valve stem. I broke the stem. In order to get the tire fixed I had to drive to the dealer for the sensor/valve replaced. Total price for the part was $300.

So there is a specific # that it goes off at? Does it use the PSI # on the door jam?

I presume so. I don't know why it would use any other pressure.

Thanks. On my BMW 335 I could reset the TPMS and it would go off when the PSI dropped about 8 below what the PSI was when I reset it.

Just to clarify on the above point: I filled all four tires after work today. Started driving and symbol was still lit in dash. By the time I got to a redlight (about a minute), it was gone. The manual says that it resets at something like 16mph. It was higher than that tonight and still on. I think that maybe it was hitting the brakes that reset it.

they reset when you put the appropriate psi in your tire and drive up to 15mph

I had a similar problem. Upon starting the car the TPMS indicator would blink then stay on. I found a passage in the manual that explained that the blinking and then staying on indicates a fault. I took it to the dealer - they cleared it in 15 minutes

do the 2010 fx's have the display of the tire pressure? Reason I'm asking is because the computer has the info of the cameras from the fx in the G37. You can see it ever once in awhile. The camera view where it shows all the cameras around the car even though we only have rear camera.

Ok, I've read this thread and there seems to be a lot of guessing. The way our TPMS works is identical to most Nissan's and I learned about it from my Frontier. It doesn't measure the absolute pressure readings per tire. What it does is look at the total differential among them and if one tire has 25% less then the average then you get a warning. The annoying part about this is if your tires are all around low cause some punk messed with your tires you'd never know till its too late.

Yes, that's why I ALWAYS look at my tires before getting into the car.

But a tire could be 5 psi low or more and you will never know by just looking at it. That’s why the TPMS, albeit limited in G's, can be useful.
