Rear wheel drive cars with rear engine configurations do not suffer from this, although fishtailing remains an issue.

So given that we have a front engine and RWD... We suffer from fishtailing with heavy acceleration and wet conditions. So why not have it be FWD??? Typically, FWD cars cannot handle the power of a performance car and are generally limted to 200 - 300 hp.
That is true. Back when I had an Acura Legend, ..... oh never mind, can't tell racing stories on this board.

Definitely watch out for those paint lines when it is wet out, sometimes they can be really really slick. I put the 2 left tires on a paint line driving down the road in the rain and VDC light flicked on and I could feel it slide slightly, it grabbed right away though as I slipped off the paint line, but still.
