That's what PM is for.

Let's not segue into those things from a reasoned discussion about brakes.

The Z1s do allow for thermal expansion, at least radially where it matters. If you look at the design of the hats and the bolts attaching the rotors, they're slotted outwards for that. Doesn't look like much, but it's enough.

I've not experienced knockback yet with the Z1s and I do go pretty hard on the brakes. Hard enough to burn the coating off the rotors.

The 2 piece STILL rust on the outer ring of the hub? Ugh.

I was thinking to ask about that. How old is that rotor? Miles, climate, etc.

6 months old, Southern California. They would not rust under typical use, as they're coated. However, I managed to get them hot enough under heavy braking during trackdays that the coating burned off. General use should have them last far longer.

Started this other thread yesterday after finally buying these rotors: https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...rt-brakes.html

...and then when researching the forum, I re-discovered this thread here. Apparently it's one of my own. Go figure.

Two and a half years later, and things just go round and round here. (Wheel pun, FTW.)

Anyway, I finally bought the full set, and am now looking for pads.

Looks good - I like the sprinkle slots (have the regular slots currently) and will probably go with those next. Also weird to see my own post... about brakes I now should be thinking about replacing. I need to change the rotor rings on mine, or have them resurfaced.

I know, right!? It's always freaky reading years-old threads that I participated in, much less started.

The voice in my comments... ugh. I sound like such an azz, LOL. Hate it, but rolling with it anyway.

Nice upgrade! Just curious, but did you get these on a Black Friday sale?

FYI.... I highly recommend the original Hawk HPS pads. I tried their newer HPS 5.0 pads a few years back and wasn't happy with the excessive brake dust that I got from those pads, so I switched back to the original HPS pads.

Yes, BF sale. $150 off, then another 6% discount.

Somone (you?) offered that same advice a while back, and I even made notes that if I go with Hawk, to get the HPS instead of the 5.0.

Nice deal! The $150 + 6% you saved should just about pay for the new pads.

Yeah, that may have been me... I know I've posted that on here in the past, but I've also seen posts from others mentioning the same thing.
