How long can rotors last with worn out pads?

So, I need brake pads, the pads are now starting to squeal. The problem is I am planning on buying the Akebono Brake kit in the next few months. I need to buy wheels first and that will happen within the next 6 weeks. I then need to buy the brake kit which will be 4 weeks after that. So my question is can I wait 10 weeks even if I tear up the rotors? I don't want to buy pads for these brakes when I will get new ones 10 weeks from now, can I wait that long since I don't care about my rotors? Anything else I need to worry about?

If you're not at all concerned with being able to stop consistently whenever you apply the brakes you'll be fine. 10 weeks with brakes that aren't in good condition should be just fine. Keep going.

$50 and 45 minutes work is worth the peace of mind that you're gonna be able to stop. as soon as you work through the pads and start grinding a steel rivet into your rotors, you're gonna embarrass yourself into changing them anyway.

utterly ridiculous you would gamble with driving with worn out brakes. on top you ask a no brainer question here. were you hoping for some sort of reinforcement to your carelessness and irrational behavior?

Are they starting to squeal from the warning sensors or are they just overly glazed? At the very least I'd check pad thickness, but if the sensors are scraping I'd get a basic pad to get you through.

Warning sensors I am pretty sure. So what cheap pads should I get, if I only need them for 3 months at most?

Buy the cheapest pads you can get at your local auto parts store. If you're going to change them in 10 weeks, why would it matter what pads you use?
