While value is up to the buyer, facts are not.

STILLEN J-Hook™ rotor (front and rear with pads) = $719.92 <-- which is NOT $900. These are often on special for less, and sometimes are offered with free pads. That would make them well under $600 during those promotions.

Nowhere on R1 Concepts web site could I come up with any combination of pads and rotors that were $202 for the Sport (Akebono) brakes. I couldn't get G37 brakes to come up properly at all, so I went with the 370Z. But the site then says the rotors fit "all", which cannot be the case. Would you care to provide a link? And, can you also provide information that says they are anywhere even close to the quality of the STILLEN products, with over 25 years of experience providing performance brake systems?

 

I had R1s on my maxima for a few years and have no complaints, no warping, cracking or any issues whatsoever.

 

I got my Stillen J-hooks w/ free pads for alil under $600 but the price shot up alil over $700 no more than $800 cause of shipping... which I though it wasnt so bad... shipping to Guam is insane... eh I figure I give them a try... not to mention they have the R&D behind them... why not right ?!? If you have a budget in mind, then stick to it... but if you have alil more dough... I say go Stillen... if it was one of your choices of course

Pads are as you have noted. Shipping is free (insurance / handling is just $9.95 from Stillen). The forum vendors can work you pricing if you are ready to go. Throw in SS lines and fluid at the same time if you want and even better package deal.

 

i forgot all about this thread, since i posted it, ive spent alot of money on my g and have decided i plan to track it one day haha. i think im gonna save to upgrade the x brakes to the S akebono kit
