Brake Judder solutions

I've got a 2008 G37s and I'm having some pretty serious judder at times.

I've done some reading and I know there's a TSB out that's supposed to update the dust shields and whatnot. My question is, has anyone had that TSB done and had it completely eliminate the judder? Also, I'm looking at just buying the shields myself since I"m out of warranty. I can't seem to find a good part number for the updated shields, though. Anyone have this part number?

also I'm thinking I should just go ahead and replace all my rotors and pads when I replace the shields. What are some good recommendations for rotors? I"m looking at the centric high carbon cryo treated rotors at tirerack. Anyone have experience with those?

Thanks!

I had the same problem on my car. I replaced the rotors with StopTech slotted cryo's and Hawk HPS pads. No more problems. Car stops straight and no vibration.

How long have you had those pads and rotors?

Thanks.

I had the TSB done, but that alone won't get rid of the judder. That just helps it from coming back. Basically your rotors are out of round so they need to be turned down (if they have room left) or replaced. I got the dealership to split the cost on our '08 for new brakes and rotors. They didn't want to at first since brakes/rotors wear weren't covered under warranty but I argued their life expectancy was reduced because of the things the TSB fixed. They came around and agreed to split the cost. That was over 65k miles ago and the judder has never come back.

Good info, man. Thank you.

Now if only I could get the parts that the TSB calls for I'd be real happy.

I installed mine last year, I've put about 3k miles on the car. The dealer wanted over $1k to just resurface the rotors and put on the shields. IMO forget them and go with the cryo's and Hawk pads. Another good thing about the Hawk pads, they're easy to break in. 3 or 4 stops and you're good.
