illuminated kickplates

My Passenger side illuminated kickplates light is Flickering. Driver side is fine. Do I need to replace the illuminated kickplate or is it just a bulb going out? I try to remove it but think it’s Held on by clips and double sided tape?

Whole plate needs to be replaced. The bulbs are embedded in the plastic. Terrible design imo

Technically, once the LED's start to flicker it won't be long before they crap out entirely. If you have the time, skills, AND patience, you can replace the LED light strip, but be warned: it is not a easy job. Not hard, but a royal PITA. In the end most just find a used plate from a junkyard or eBay- much easier to replace than repair.

This thread has some useful pics and info.

Mine has been flickering for about a year now just after I bought the car it started. Thanks for the info, and that other thread is helpful. I searched but that one didn’t come up for some reason

Guys, I bought a set of these kick plates from ebay for my g coupe however, it did not come with a BCM harness. Just two plates and nothing else. I have a dilemma on my hands, I don't know which two wires to splice them into. Could you maybe look at yours and see where positive and negative connect to? Attached is an image of the plug in question on the pass side in the footwell.

Easy as pie. Here's what I have:

This is from the kickplate installation guide:

(pdf can be downloaded from this pdf link).

This DIY thread shows exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

FWIW, the T-Harness, while it makes for a easy "plug-and-play" install, it is a PITA to deal with because there is no free space. Just make sure your taps are secure and wrapped in electrical tape.

Thank you so much! By the way, I just got my grill and trunk trim from the paint shop, gloss black.

Really easy to do. Just don't bend the metal plate. The only hard part was assembling everything together so the metal would not pop up from the plastic. That just required some strong epoxy glue and letting it sit overnight. Buying new ones weren't an issue for me, I just wanted to experiment and it worked.
