Illuminated Kick Plates

I just purchased a 2008 g37s and it had the illuminated kick plates in there. My issue is this, the driver side not all the letters illuminate, if i tap it more light up, the passenger side is fine. I am wondering if this is a loose connection or if the led strip is bad?????? i am hoping that its something minor or do I have to replace the drivers side????? any help would be greatly appreciated! I am loving this vehicle so far

if you're tapping it and it comes back on then it looks like there's a loose led. try taking off the kick plate and reconnecting the led. i don't have the kick plates myself so i don't know exactly how it work.

This can also mean that the grounding point chosen was bad, try relocation of the ground point

^ LOL I was looking forward to seeing a link to a fix not my DIY~

Talk to the dealer if this is covered?

OR

Maybe you can remove the bad side, check the connection, if the connection is good but the light is out|ask some local shop to check the led and have them replace it with a new led? or look used one on ebay or on here.

If the grounding was bad.....I am thinking both sides should not work.

Has a solution, disconnect the kick plate and run wires direct to battery and test that way to see if all lights come on, if so there's a bad point connection when installed in place....if light still does not operate fully then your kick plate has malfunctioned, investigate LED
