So I have two g37 coupes.
1 2009 g37x coupe
1 2008 g37s 6mt coupe

so my g37x the fog lights work like they are supposed to when you turn them on the H1 bulb lights up, when you turn the high beams on the H1 bulbs go off.

the g37s my fog lights come on with the fog light switch AND THE HIGH BEAMS. The fog light switch works to turn them off and on, but if I turn the high beams on the fog lights come on and the hid light shroud changes position.

i can't pass inspection like this I've checked the fuses and think I have a bad ballast or ipdm anyone ever had this happen before and what resolved the issue??

if no one can help I'll just wire a relay to pin 7 aka the high beam solenoid to cut the ground to the bottom fog lights, but this should not have to be done and my g37x is proof.

ive checked with a multimeter also

pinout:

7 = high beam solenoid +

I don't think I have DRL or AFS

when I use my multi meter I have continuity for ground on pins 3 & 4

when I check for voltage dc
5 and 8 are 12vdc+ with headlights on
7 is only 12vdc+ with high beams on
1 is 12vdc+ with fog lights on AND HIGH BEAMS(which shouldn't be)

1 should only have 12vdc+ with the fog light switch and should be 0vdc as soon as 7 becomes 12vdc+ when the high beams are turned on. But for some reason my high beam circuit is energizing pins 1 and 7.

when I turn my fog lights on they come on when I turn the fog light switch off they go off. When I turn my high beams on the shroud in the hid switches over for high beam like it should, but my fog lights also come on wether or not the switch for the fog lights is turned on. where really they are supposed to turn off when the high beams are turned on whether or not the fog light switch is turned on.


Also I've looked at the EXL (exterior lighting) section of the FSM for a 2008 g37 coupe basically confirms this saying this shouldn't happen.
