Reverse lights wont work!

i replaced my reverse lights with LED's because i thought it was maybe a coincidence that both bulbs went at the same time but both bulbs STILL dont work. ive seen that the 6MT has a relay ONTOP of the tranny but the AT still rely on a fuse? funny because i CANNOT find a fuse for the reverse lamps unless there is more fuse boxes than the one by the stomp pedal and the one by the battery....please somebody help, i am losing my mind over this.

Did you buy pretty decent LED? I remember having to messing around with the license plate led because it kept wiggling loose. sometimes the LEDs just cant get a solid connection or could possibly be bad. Try testing the LED and making sure they are good to go.

Have you tried testing with a voltmeter and the FSM?

It is only Battery and ground

Try turning the LEDs 180 degrees in the socket - the polarity may be backwards and Murphy's law would suggest both might have made it in backwards. I doubt it's a bulb issue but this would be an easy first step.

For troubleshooting I would recommend going back to new traditional incandescent bulbs until you figure it out just to rule out any issues with the LEDs.

Is someone telling you they aren't working?

I upgraded to LED recently, and assumed they weren't working either. I expected them to be much brighter, and what I saw out of the backup camera indicated that maybe they weren't working.

I finally mustered the courage to put it in reverse (uphill) with parking brake on, then I walked out and looked. Sure enough, they were both working.

I've come to realize that they do provide good light, I just had larger expectations.

To the op, as alrockaz said, try flipping them 180 degrees. Usually, that's the case and make sure they fit into the socket tightly. Most LED's are have one-way polarity, meaning the current only travels in one direction. Unlike regular bulbs which you can put in either way. If you notice on the LED bulb, most likely it only has one lead on each side of the bulb, whereas regular bulbs have 2 leads on each side of the base of the bulb. Good luck!

just turn ignition on without starting the car, and it will let you shift into any gear... put it in reverse and walk out back to check. LOL you took a dangerous approach testing those!

EDIT: I have these reverse LED bulbs and they are SUPER BRIGHT for anyone interested... they really light up the back of the car at night and you can see everything clearly in the camera... much much better than stock. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281386340147?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Sometimes if you insert the LED backwards it wont work, flip the inserts and re-install.

I think staaksondeck said both his OEM backup light bulbs stopped working before he put in the LED bulbs.

Anyone aware of the fuse for the backup lights?

Looks like fuse #4 on the in-cabin block - but I don't think your guages would be working if that were blown... Polarity is the first thing to check.

Yeah EG Ryan is right...the regular bulbs didn't work either and they weren't blown either. I will try to flip them 180 and see if that works because I noticed some of the other leds were like that but still 99% sure there's an actual issue other than the bulbs just being out in backwards
