DRL- Strange Behaviour

I recently posted that I thought it strange my driver's side DRL (Canada) was already burnt out after only 4 years. Nevertheless, I endeavored to replace it but I just was not able to get the bulb out (I guess my hands exceed the size required to do that kind of DIY...).
Anyway, I gave up and decided I would let the dealer take care of it when my next service is due.
This morning I am pleased to find out the light is now working again but the strange thing is: it's quite a bit brighter than the passenger side- as well as quite a bit brighter than I remember it being before it went out.
So now I am thinking this is not merely a burning out bulb issue but there is something else wrong.
I am still going to leave this for the service department but I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this or has any thoughts as to what the cause may be.

Thanks.

That can be normal behaivor for filiment based bulbs. The filiment (the little wire in the bulb) probably burned out but reconnected during a bump and sort of arc welded itself back together. When this happens it is usually brighter and won't last long.
