Just as the title says I'm looking to switch it with an LED, Can I just pop the light cover off or do I need the take the entire top apart, like with the sunroof controls and both lughts / sunglasses holder. Thanks guys.

 

I also just tried taking off the cover from my license plate blubs and they are very very hard to get off, to the point where i was cracking the plastic, should it be that hard?

 

You just need to take the cover off. I use a credit card (or any other card) to pry it off and it doesn't leave marks.

 

Squeeze the sides of the license plate bulbs housing and you should be able to pull them out one at a time. Turn the bulb counterclock wise to remove it from the housing. Should not take any force at all really.

 

The license plate bulb housings come off by hand by pinching the two little tabs towards the center of the housing. You should NOT be cracking anything.

The map lights have a tab on each corner of the covers (the white covers n either side of the SR control). You can use a butter knife or some other flat/thin instrument and gently pry each of them out one by one.m y don't have to take the entire thing apart.

 

Bulbs just pull straight out, no twisting ... they are 194/168 base. None of the covers should be that hard to get off.
