Project Completed: Folding Side View Mirrors
Modem, you're awesome! Thank you for setting it straight!
Final question: so what is the best way to run the pair of wires between the driver and the passenger doors since the existing OE harness does not contain them?
Thanks again!!

It's definitely the hardest part of the install. The problem is that you have so little room to work with. The connector pops off from the frame and you can pull it into the car underneath the instrument panel. Then its a matter threading a needle under the dash.
Threading the pin is also a tricky process. If you look inside the door connector, there are 3 connectors fitted into one plastic case. You will have to remove the connector from the white plastic case. Once you pull out the connector out, you'll see an outline of plastic cut out. You have to lift this piece up and then you can thread in the pin.
Hope this helps.

Dam you Infiniti could of just made this an option or at the very least plug and play when the mirrors are purchased lol. To everyone doing this mod kudos, I too will bite the bullet on this eventually.
Modme, just pulled out the connector and pushed out the chasis side connector...I'm doing this backwards because I have the luxury to do so since you paved the way and provided directions for me! Now I'm screwed because I don't have the pins yet!!! Curiosity got the best of me when I pushed the connector out...did you remove the lower dash to do this part of the mod?
Sorry to bring this thread back up from the dead, but has anyone been able to use the convertible power folding mirrors on a sedan or has anyone been able to purchase European mirrors and put them on a sedan?
Sigh...still looking for a set of folding mirrors on eBay...I've got the wiring done thanks to Modme...but no good will ever come of it unless I get myself a set of mirrors that I can afford!!@$&@!
Btw, some of the mirrors listedon eBay states 7 wire...how many wires for the motorized mirrors? (I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in this tread some where...)

Sorry to half thread jack, but any of you who have done this swap on the coupe have the original mirror assembly and want to sell it (driver's side). The wife was backing my car out of the garage this am and nearly took the mirror off, now the black rim area next to the glass is scratched and deformed. Don't want to drop 330 or so on a new one, thanks.
So I got bored and started a new project: first G37 Coupe with folding mirrors.
The mirrors are from 2010 G37 convertible. They fit the coupe perfectly. The mirror covers are also perfect swap with the coupe's.
I already mounted the new mirrors to my car, just waiting for the new switch to come in to do the wiring.
Some people asked for part numbers, so here they are:
Mirror RH: 96301-1NJ1A
Mirror LH: 96302-1NJ1A
Mirror Switch: 25570-1BB1A

Update:
The mirror switch is identical between the folding and nonfolding models, with the exception of the fold button. Picture side by side:

It seems that Infiniti thought about including folding mirrors in the Coupe but later changed their mind. I'll get more into that later.
Fitting the switch basically involves dremeling a rectangle from the window switch bezel:

Now here's the most difficult part, wiring. To my pleasant surprise, the car is mostly prewired for foldable mirrors. This is also why I said Infiniti probably intended on having foldable mirrors but changed their minds at the last minute. The wires from the mirror switch to the driver door mirror is already there. The wire inside the passenger door to the mirror is already present. The only thing missing is the cross over wire from the driver's door to the passenger door, which runs through the car body. I'll have updates on this later.
The only thing that needed work was this violet wire. It is supposed to supply 12volt to the mirror switch, but it was not connected. I soldered a 12volt source from the window control switch to this wire:

After supplying 12v to the violet wire, the driver mirror is folding. I'll need to find some pins that will connect the harness between the driver and passenger doors.

And this project is a wrap.
I ordered some door wire pins and it took 2 months to get here. That's why this project took so long.
So like I said earlier, the doors are prewired for folding mirrors. However, there is no cross over wire from the driver door to the passenger door. So I purchased 4 pins and created a 2 wire harness to connect the two sides.
Then I installed an auto fold module from ebay. The mirrors fold with door lock and unfolds when ignition is turned on.
