I have yet, knock on wood, lost a mirror. Until I was on this forum I had never even thought about folding mirrors. Do I think it would be nice, yes indeed! Will I mod my car, no. But it might be a selling point on whatever my next car is.

Yes the mod would be nice if you park in a parking garage or crowded parking areas. But for the money + time; I think I'll be just fine walking around and fold the mirrors by hand.

It's a fresh look and very practical when living in areas where people drive like A holes (Miami, NYC, etc). It's a clean look on other luxury cars that offer it (BMW, benz). This is definitely not a useless mod compared to say oooooo GTR start button not a shot at anyone with this mod it looks good but I would do this 10x over the start button. But to each his own, para Los gustos se hicieron los colores!

To the OP aapreacite the part numbers!

Everyone has different opinion of mods. Some people are fine with using a TomTom GPS mounted to the windshield. Others like me prefer the OEM navigation.

Some people are fine spending 4k on bolt on mods for 20-30 whp. While other likes me prefer to spend 10k for 150whp on FI. You get the idea.

To break down the cost:
-Paid $400 for a pair of use convertible mirrors
-Sold my old mirrors for $150 each.
-Paid $50 for the mirror switch.

Total net cost: $150

It was worth it for me. But to each his own.

Unfortunately, the US spec G37 sedans do not have folding feature. The coupe mirrors would not fit. You would have to find mirrors from other countries.

I'd have to dig up the part numbers and start scouting australian ebay for someone parting out a skyline sedan, I wonder if it was an option on the JDM sedans? I guess it was but they wouldn't have an left hand driver, driver windows switch, with the button cut out.

when you turn the car off does it fold? and when you turn it on open back up?

also, most convertible parts are the same as the coupe, so it would be a bit cleaner if you buy a convertible switch bezel instead of drilling out the one you have. i looked on the parts sites, and it seems that it would only be 25 bucks, but it doesnt show one for just the verte, it shows an interchangeable one for coupe/verte.
