plasti dip question

So I've read about a hundred threads about plasti dip and decided to give it a try this weekend cuz i was bored. My question is, how did you apply it?

Light coats from far away (8-12 inches)
Heavy coats from up close

I did my grill using light coats from far away, applying about 5 coats, and it didn't turn out as much as I liked. The texture was not very smooth with uneven spots (some area looks shinier and smoother than others). I tried peeling it off and it didn't come off easily as others described. I may try this again, but any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You want to go with lighter coats from about 6 in away. If you go too heavy from close up it will run and look pitted. Remember to spray from left to right and vice versa for even application. Let it dry between each coat.

Thanks...definitely going to get some goo gone, as there are still some plasti dip residue left on the grill. that stuff is a pita to get off towards the back. I guess I just didn't do a good enough job the first time. It doesn't look all that bad, just some uneven spots and i'm picky, so off it goes. I might try again this weekend.
