OK I low balled them at $45 and they counter offered at $55 and I bought them . So it looks like $60 shipped is the best deal so far. Mine came out to $63.

I wonder how an S2K lens would do in there.

The S2K and TSX are the same lenses.

^ not true. Not even close. S2K are superior in every way. Unless the lenses you see on ebay are authentic TSX lenses, they are replicas which are purpose made and has a distinct clarity rivaling the S2K but still not the same. Real TSX lenses are 7 out of 10 in clarity and surface uniformity at best.

Also keep in mind that S2K projector is far better in its overall width and brightness than the G37 projector regardless of the lens. So spending market price of $300 a pair for just the lenses will be silly and ridiculous.

We are comparing the lenses not the projectors. The ones purchased are actually the TSX-R lenses. It is a 2.5 inch clear lens made for theretrofitsource.com. The clairty is perfect and completely smooth surface. Technically the TSX-R lens is considered to be an upgrade to the AP1 and AP2 lenses.

Also I have no idea where you saw 300 dollars for lenses. 300 is for the entire projector.

The lenses make a great improvement and are not expensive at all.

Check this out if you want some pictures...
Projector Comparison - TFX/S2k/TSX + TSXR Pics + 55w vs. 35w - E46Fanatics

They actually swapped out the OEM S2000 lens for a TSX-R lens and it improves the output a good bit.

BUMP

Any one have any updated pictures? Neverbonestock got rid of all his pictures for some reason. I'm getting ready to open up my headlights and was wondering which of the 2 available Lenses people have used and what the differences are. It seems like ours use 2.5" lenses and theretrofitsource has FX and TSX clear lenses for that application.

Also, any suggestions on modifying the shield to get a sharper cut off and perhaps a colorshift as well? I know there are some spacer/washer techniques but I would rather hear from someone who actually did it on the coupe lens than looking it up on another forum.

Bumping an old thread!

Did anyone modify their shield in order to alter the cutoff colorband? Anyone that's done the swap have any pictures showing the difference between OEM and TSX-R lenses? Maybe a DIY?

Thanks!
