Lighted Door Sills AND Lighted Wheel Wells

Hi Guys... I hope this question hasn't been answered somewhere else or I'll feel like an idiot!!!

I currently have lighted wheel wells in my 08 G37 Sport Coupe. I just bought lighted door sills from Infiniti.

What I'd like to know is: Can the two be installed together without splicing wires, etc.? Is there specific spots on the BCM for both to plug into? (If that is even where you plug the harness into!!)

Thanks guys!!

Lighted wheel wells is not an OEM option so I doubt it can be plugged into the BCM. The door sills plug into the wiring hardness for the door light switches, down near the floor/firewall on the passenger side.

The illuminated door sills only light up when the door is opened and shut off when the door is closed. I doubt you would want your wheel well lights to operate in the same fashion. When I installed the security lighting kit (OEM Nissan) I was able to splice into the door sills so both would operate with the door.

The door sills get connected to the BCM. The kit should have a t-harness included which connects to the BCM and then your door sills get connected to the t-harness. Super simple installation. Your wheel well lights would have to be hard wired separately.

Why would you want to light your wheel wells? Isn't that pretty rice-ish?

^ +1. i keep wondering the same. wheel well lighting would have to be heavy duty to stand up to the abuse of road spray. unless the OP means the interior foot wells, where the OEM accent lighting accessory lights up?

Ya Guys that was a major screw up!!!! I'm reading my original post and laughing at myself! ha ha ha, how stupid. It's not lighted wheel wells, it's the OEM kit that softly lights up the Interior foot wells. I have that kit and was wondering if the lighted sills with the harnesses that come along would have room to be plugged in to the BCM or is there only enough room for one add on (like the lighted foot wells) that are already working.

Sorry for the mix up. It sorta throws off any help you may get using wrong wordings.

OK, we won't blast you for going rice :-) I installed both kits and there is room. It's been a while since I had installed them, but the ambient light kit (what you were calling wheel wells) are activated when the lights are turned on, while the illuminated sills only light up when the door is opened.

Great gotcha G-Man.... I know exactly what you are saying.... So the install then for the sills should be pretty stay forward plug and play. Am I right in thinking that?

Only difficult thing would be fishing the wire under the consol... ABout an hour or so for install?

Best to just remove the plastic interior trim pieces. Hardest part was getting the protective cover off the double sided tape while the sill is in place. Follow the instructions to the letter. Take you time .... an hour to hour and a half sounds about right.

Some people blast these two accessories because f the cost and yes, they are priced high but they really add a touch of class. The Ambient light kit is really nice, just the right amount of light. Wish I could get it for my M. With the M the ambient light is paired with the illuminated sills. The sills you can buy seperate but not the ambient kit and the dealer installed the sills already before I bought the car.

I agree with G-Man, the install is super easy but you must take your time. Everything is pretty much plug-and-play.

I don't have the ambient lighting kit having opted instead for the security lighting found on the Q50 (though I used the Nissan kit for the Altima Coupe) and combined with the illuminated door sills gives the car a more refined look (IMO anyway).

Good luck with the install!
