I have a hard time believing that they can't acurately diagnose this problem. At least once a day the compressor gets loud enough for me to hear it droning. And yet they don't seem to hear anything when it was in for service.
What do you mean that it is normal on Infiniti cars? Are you saying Infiniti has bad AC or are you saying the noise is normal and I should ignore it?
Thanks.
It's just the way they designed it.. I mean, look at how noisy the G37 rides on Idle... Compared to my friends Acura Legen with over 150k.... His motor is smooth and quiet...
So I took my car in to get oil change and to fix my muffler. I didn't bring up the A/C issue because I was short on time. Anyway, they gave me a new G35 loaner with 2k miles on it. I noticed the same sound coming from the G35. I guess this means this is normal. I've never heard of an A/C that occasionally makes a loud sound that responds to the accelerator. For now I'll learn to live with it, but it makes no sense to me. If this is normal it is a very poor design.
At long last, Infiniti was able to replicate the sound, and diagnosed it as a A/C compressor going bad. So they are ordering a new A/C Compressor. I'll keep you all posted that care.
