A/C is very LOUD. Whats the problem?

I've noticed that my air conditioning is very, very loud at times. I've also notice that it gets louder as a press the gas and quieter as a let off the gas. I'll sit parked and rev my engine and listen to the A/C respond. This is very odd and unlike any car I've ever owned. I would say the A/C is too loud about 80% of the time and its driving me crazy. I think there is a problem, but before I bring it in I wanted to see if anyone else has this issue.

Thanks!

My AC does not bother me at all? Maybe you need to take it in.

Because you haven't explained what "loud" is

If you could describe the sound you think is excessive, such as where is the sound coming from? Does it sound like the fans, the compressor, something else? Is it squeak, a hiss, clunking, etc? Does it happen with AC on or off with the fan on max or min? Does fan speed matter? Etc etc.

Have you had the car for a while, if anything I'd just assume you weren't used to the A/C or engine noises.

To add another thought. The fact that you think the ac is overly loud might mean there really is a problem. I found it to be very quiet compared to other car's I've owned. Even at max (although at Max it is powerful, which is good) even though max is "louder".

Check to make sure your fan isn't set to max speed. You may have set the fan on full power and even though you can change the "temp" the fan will stay at max. One way to know for sure is to hit the climate control on button, make sure the little light is on next to the left hand temperature **** (right under and to the right of the ****).

The sound is not the fan. The fan is very quiet. The sound is kind of a loud hum coming from the center of the dash. The hum only occurs when the AC or fan is on. When I hit the accelerator the sound gets louder. The more gas the louder the noise. I know its not engine noise because I turn off the climate control and the sound goes away that second, turn it back on and the sound starts back up. I can toggle back and forth with the same results. The fact that its somehow linked with the accelerator makes no sense to me. About 20-30% the hum is not present. The fact that no one knows what I'm talking about makes me think I have a serious problem.

Definitely not the engine. I can hit the on/off button for the climate control all day and listen to the sound start and stop. Its 100% linked to the fan/AC.
