If the Maxima was a 2010-2014, I would have thought the USB debug method would work, as it uses the same 08IT nav unit.

Anyways, this should answer all questions

Hello great and very useful topic. I have a navigation from 2007-2009 with a damaged hdd. Can you help me with the links from the first post because they don't work anymore? I also wonder if it is possible to change the region from America to Europe?

People gatekeep that now, and everything 'new', even though they based their work on what was described here and other forums (esp. the russian one). When I get those images, I'll make them public again...

Even if you had those files, there is a 90% chance it won't work.
The software version (hard drive) must match the hardware version (flash memory) or you will get unpredictable results.

I don't think a North American nav unit can be changed to Europe, as the hardware is different.

Your best bet it to buy a Europe nav unit and see it that works in your car.

The OP sold his car a few years ago and moved to a different platform.

If you really want those files, why not do what he did?
Spend a few hundred dollars to buy a nav unit, disassemble it, copy the files and share them.

I found this very interesting and promising forum which might eventually solve my problem with my Infiniti FX35 car. I purchased the car in Kuwait. It is full options , made 2012 year and with installed maps of Arabian gulf region. But 9 years ago I relocated to live in Germany. All features of head unit works except GPS and maps.
So, my question: is it possible by the configuration to change the region of head unit to Europe and install European maps?

I am electronic engineer, well familiarized with PC hardware, MS doss, arduino, etc. various electronics. I hope I might be able to solve my problem with your valuable help.
