2012 G37 Sedan Multiple functions not working
Hi everyone. I recently bought a G37 2012 sedan, and everything seemed fine. We checked the carfax and everything. However, I had failed to check the outside mirrors, and it turns out that they weren't working. We thought that warranty would cover it, but it turns out this wasn't just a failure. We brought it into the Infiniti dealership, and they said that there were other electrical functions that weren't working. First, the security system wasn't working, and second, the function where the car seat moves backwards and wheel moves upwards when you shut down the car wasn't working (a feature I didn't know about). Now we think that the car was broken into previously, and the previous owner just didn't report it. We don't want to spend thousands of dollars getting these things fixed, and the only one that we really care about is being able to move the outside mirrors for safety. Can anyone help and possibly diagnose what part of the electrical system might be broken? Is there a central link for these 3 parts?
Thanks everyone for your help.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Welcome to the forum. Sorry you're having some trouble with your new G. The first place to go is here:
Index of /FSM/G37/Sedan/2012
where you will find all the factory service manuals for your car (with thanks to NICO club).
"PGR.pdf" is "Power and Ground" and shows all electrical circuits so you can search for fuses impacting the systems you are having problems with. Note that there are a few locations for fuses on your car.
"MIR.pdf" is for your power mirrors.
"SEC.pdf" is your security system.
"ADP.pdf" is "automatic driver position". Note that this function can be disabled as a preference. Check your owner's manual for that one.
I can't say offhand if these systems are all related, other than being processed by the Body Control Module (BCM, the car's main black box). But hopefully you can trace it using those manuals and will find a simple solution. Post back if you need further help, there are a lot of experienced folks in here.
