It's Settings > General > Accessibility on your iPhone, not in the car... Doubt it'll help... Sucks.

I would try to go to the dealer to see if there is a patch to your particular car that may be available. Worst case scenario, they say no, then try to upsell you on the car warranty...

anyone ever get any resolution on this?

I just called apple care and spoke about this issue and got referred to one of their senior teams. The person was super nice and asked me a ton of details about this issue. He also asked if others with iphone's and nissan/infiniti's are having this issue and I actually emailed him this thread. There's a real issue here and it is safety related.

The fact that IOS 10.3.1+ fixed this issue and it came back with IOS 11 really points to something with IOS being the problem. He sent all the info, including this thread to their engineering team. Here's hoping.

Ok I can report that since I am running IOS 12 (beta 9) on an iPhone X the bluetooth issue has (mostly) been resolved. As to calls it works ok on my 2010 G and music streaming is back with out cutting out (mostly) but let me explain this.

Ok What I do is pick a song, give the radio 3-5 seconds for the buffer to fill then I have to hit play on the radio to make it stream the FIRST time. After that I can FF and REW as normal on phone, choose different songs etc w/o letting buffer fill.

This tells me its an IOS issue. I went out and bought an iPod touch w/ IOS 10.xx on it and worked flawlessly. Just happened to try my iPhone running IOS 12 beta and discovered that its mostly been resolved. I had IOS 11.xx on iPhone and nothing but issues w/ bluetooth.
From what I have read from tech blogs from Apple is that IOS 12 final release will be all about code clean up and bug fixes so in approx 2-3 weeks time we should have the final IOS 12 to play with and hopefully resolves this issue once and for all.

As a side note I also have another iPod touch 128GB this years model running IOS 11.4.1 and streams w/o any issues. IDK why but it does.

Does the track info display correctly? That's something that's never worked quite right, even with older iOS versions.

Looking forward to 12 for sure.

For the most part yes it does. I can stream from web based radio or play personal music stored on phone to even podcasts and info shows up

It is a known story that with each new iOS release in-car Bluetooth connectivity gets into the trouble. The best you can do is to keep reporting to Apple and wait until the next firmware update is released by them. Usually it will take them a few weeks to fix the issue.

I would agree but this has been going on since ios9.

The apple support person I spoke to called me back today. Their engineering team asked for us to do some logging. Basically catch when it screws up and dump the logs off my iphone. We scheduled some time to do it tomorrow.

Keeping fingers crossed.
