So I had a call scheduled with the apple support person to replicate the issue today. But you know how it goes. When you want to show someone an issue you're seeing you cant reproduce it..Sooooo. Last night I went ahead on my own and figured out how to collect logs from iOS and set up the troubleshooting profile. The way it works is when you have whatever issue happen, you hit the lock button and the volume up/down buttons to have the iphone capture a log right then and there.

Today I had a long 3 hour drive and I caught the car doing the music stuttering thing, so I caught a log of that, and I had it disconnect twice while playing music and I caught the logs for that.

They asked me if I was experiencing the issue with any other iPhones or cars. And I let them know my wife's JX35 has the same issue with her iphone 6s and also told them again about this thread. Hopefully the diagnostic logs I captured point to some sort of issue they can pinpoint. I let them know pretty much all nissan's of the same era have this issue and I also let them know all the other steps we tried including upgrading the firmware on the nav unit.

Here is hoping. I REALLY hope they fix this problem. The guy I am working with is sympathetic.

one note the apple guy suggested. He said if others experiencing this issue can call in, it will help our case.

apple called me back today and told me they looked through all the stuff I sent them and concluded the issue is on nissan's side. They referred me to ITB-054B and told me to get that in place to fix the issues.

Well it was worth a shot.

I still have a problem where when people call, I cant hear them but htey can hear me.

So Nissan blames Apple and Apple blames Nissan...typical.

Somehow ever since I’ve got the X earlier this year mine has worked perfectly. I don’t steam music often, I still use my iPod plugged in usb, and I don’t make or receive many calls but whenever I do either it works.

iOS 12.

What can I say, besides the fact that my venerable iPhone 6s seems a lot faster now...

Bluetooth playback seems much better now, granted I only tested it for like 15 minutes today. Track info is displayed correctly, as is the track playback time. Will test it more over the next few days.

So I called 4 dealerships to get itb-054b put on my car. they all wanted 140 bucks no matter me telling them that its a 20 minute "pop a dvd in and let it update" procedure.

I finally spoke to a service writer to agreed to do it for free. I got it put in yesterday, which is actually, from what I can guess, an older software revision than what the nav dvd put on my car. (x1uc2003 vs the x1uc2007 the nav dvd loaded).. Guess what! My phone calls have been working great and my a2dp audio seems to work more reliably though not 100%.

I just upgraded to ios12 and Im waiting to see how that works. Will need more driving time. I seriously was about to get rid of the car due to bluetooth issues. If this fixes it, I'm a happy camper.

I didnt have the courage to ask them to let me rip an ISO of that DVD... I kind of wish I did.

sev, I can't find itb-054b - did you maybe mistype it or listed incomplete TSB number?

The thing it specifically fixed for me was answering bluetooth calls where the other side could hear me but I couldnt hear them.

I do notice different behavior on a2dp as well, it seems to be much more reliable but not 100%

so call me crazy and a broken record but amazon is coming out with this and maybe it will work? Granted I understand you're negating the infiniti problem altogether and using a plug-in, but with how most amazon devices perform it could decrease the headache. https://www.businessinsider.com/amaz...the-car-2018-9

OK you're crazy. What makes you think I'd want a device that listens to everything I say in the car?

hahaha this doesnt solve any of my problems.

So impressions on ios12. It is better. i see the system trying more often to show the song name and title. But its not fool proof. Today when I got int he car it displayed weird stuff, like the title but nothing else. Aaaaand of course it does the stuttering thing. I dont think that will ever get fixed.

whats funny is literally no other device from my airpods to my other car have this issue. Nice one, Nissan.

Today I tried it for ~30 minutes driving to work. Had 2 drops in au. twice, has not stuttered at all. Displayed all track info correctly, with the exception of Cyrillic track names (yeah I'm Russian sue me) - those display just fine when using USB input (both on Status screen and at the bottom of the map screen), and display fine over Bluetooth on Status screen, just not on the map screen. Yeah first world problems.

Sounds like yours is a bit worse than mine. So, have you tried deleting the bluetooth entry from your phone and from your car, and rebooting both, and re-setting it up from scratch?
