Trunk wont open

Yesterday my trunk suddenly stopped opening via the fob, interior or tail light buttons. I checked the switch in the glove, which I haven't even used recently, and it seemed fine to me. I toggled it anyway and I was probably a little too annoyed cause it fell off.

Took it to the dealership and they said I need to replace the trunk switch quoted me $202.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is this something that can be DIY'd?

You will get better response if you post in the correct section.

What's wrong with the section he posted in (electronics)?? Most of us do a New posts, which shows posts from all subsections.

Anyways, should be a fairly simple DYI. Most challenging part will probably be just gaining access to the solenoid/wiring. That is what you mean by switch right? Take a look in the FSM to see what it entails. Sedan/coupe will probably vary. Pay attention to the solenoid alignment/position.
