iPhone 6

I have a 2008 G37S without navigation. The car came with an ipod cable. I recently bought an iPhone 6 and was told that if I get an 8 pin lighting adapter, I can plug it into the end of the iPod cable and the other end to the iPhone 6 and I will be able to play music through the system. Well I did that and it doesn't work. Does anyone have any idea why and is there something else I need to do like make an adjustment on the settings portion of the phone?
Thanks

If the adapter didnt work, your only option may be bluetooth.

What you need is the lightning to 30-pin adapter. I have an 08 G37s coupe w/out nav as well and it works.

You can't use the bluetooth for audio on the non-nav models, only phone use.

This is the part that I bought but it was from Amazon and didn't work. Again I am only interested in planning music through the car. Maybe I should buy the adapter direct from Apple?

Perhaps you got a defective unit because I bought the Apple one and it works perfectly. Sometimes you have to change the mode to Aux and cycle back to the iPod/iPhone for it to register. Try that and see if it helps, if not then get an Apple one.

Thanks Gspot. I don't believe they are defective as the ones I bought had 2 in them. I tried what you suggested and they both don't work so I will return and go to my local Apple store and buy the genuine product. Thanks for your help.
