How do you stop audio weather alerts

Every time I get in my car, I get spoken alerts about floods 20 miles away (when there are no floods). Is there a way to stop these messages?

Try the settings menu. Check the owners manual.

I just let XM expire.

But yes, there's gotta be something in the settings.

I assume your car is new and you have the 3 months trial of Sirius/XM. When the trial period is over, if you pay for the service, you can get it without the weather updates, as that is an extra charge.

I THINK I found the setting, but the weather here today is too nice to tell

I had the same problem. Shortly after whenever I started the car the weather portion would announce that there was storms, flooding, etc. close to my area.
I think it is because where I live in Punta Gorda, FL, it is too far away from a major city. If I lived in Tampa or one of the other larger cities the weather would probably come in correctly.
Now I only subscribe to the music portion of XM radio.

There is indeed a setting to turn off the audio warnings--it's on the Navigation tab of SETTINGS, I think. So I got an onscreen warning that was silent. When my free 90 days of XM run out, I won't be getting the weather info.
