Trunk lip backup cam +PAC unit, iphone video/navi integration--Thanks RemmyZero!
Hey guys, here are some pics from my install today. Thanks so much to RemmyZero for his help with this.
Camera is a Sony XA-R800C.
PAC VCI NIS-2
I was able to route the cables under the carpets with a wire hanger--was a massive pain in the ***, though.
In the trunk picture, that's the camera power unit near the tire. Also, in the second picture you can see the PAC unit wrapped in rubber (to prevent rattling) and to the right you can see the switch drilled into the center console armrest.

Jailbreaking the iphone and using the DisplayOut app allows it to output the image to any screen with an apple composite cable. You can use the car's stock AV composite ins to get the image to the car while you are parked with parking brake on. If you want to use your phone GPS while driving, the PAC unit allows you to do that.
Yes there is, i bought an ipod cable that has connection for apple products thats splits into a/v aswell as usb. I purchased mine at bestbuy cant tell you the brand cuz im out of the country.
Thanks for the shout-out! Looks great! How has the GPS worked for you with the iPhone? I'm just curious if you've had signal issues with the phone physically in the car, or do you keep it in the window so it can be seen easier by the GPS satellites?

I have 2 in my car...one on the dash for my tomotom gps and one just below the level of my steering wheel on the center console. I am taking a 2 hr simple drive in 2 weeks and plan to run my tomtom gps along with my iphone tomtom through the car simultaneously and see if there is any difference in routing, reception, etc. If there isn't, I may get rid of my tomtom completely.
How has your iphone been re: routing and reception for GPS compared to a standaloen unit?
Can you give us details? that' would be awesome!
