Help with Bose & iPod Integration

I have a 2010 G37 vert with Nav and Bose. My car came with RCA Phono jacks, no USB, no 16-pin connector. Basically, I can connect any audio out, but no integration - nothing displayed on NAV screen, no steering wheel controls, no charging.

Local (Kuwait) and Middle East Infiniti web sites, as well as the printed brochure specify:

"USB connection port for iPodŽ interface and other compatible devices
Steering-wheel-mounted audio controls"

I complained to the local dealer as well as to Infiniti Middle East, and both told me that 'this is how all G37s come to the Middle East, and your Bose cannot be upgraded with an USB Port and iPod integration.

So, if there are any Infiniti dealers reading this, or experts on Bose, is the above true? Would Bose actually design a different system at additional cost just to deny Middle Eastern users iPod integration on a luxury car???

And if not, what do I need to order to have full iPod integration?

I just don't get it.. my wife bought a Kia Cerato Koup yesterday...it costs 4 TIMES less than my G37, and it has full iPod integration...ARRRGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I can't imagine them being different in your part of the world, but of course I am just guessing.
I have '09 'vert that came with a special USB cable. It plugs into an outlet in my armrest and I just leave the ipod there. All the steering wheel and screen options work.
It might have changed in 2010, but do you have an outlet in your arm rest storage area?

Yeah, G's in different countries get different options. It seems like the middle east 2010 options are still with a few 09 options. As far as I know, it not an easy change a plug. Its software as well that has to recognize the usb devices.

Shane, as I mentioned in my post, I don't have a 16-pin connector in my arm rest which would allow me to use the special 16-pin to Apple Connector cable that 2009 models had in the USA.

Whatever it is, I am really POed at them for:

Lying in their brochures and web sites
Charging premium and not having such a basic feature
Not giving me even the option of paying extra to get it

Basically, they just told me to F... Off.....

I still find it hard to believe that Bose would spend money on developing 3 different versions of the same system, just so that a thousand or so customers in the Middle East get a unit without USB support...it just doesn't make sense.

Unhappy

That is wild! It must cost them big money to make this basic feature NOT happen.

Sounds like you have all the electronic features as my other '09 vehicle, which happens to be an Econoline cargo van.

Sorry to hear!

Me too. Oh well...time for next step - file a claim with Consumer Protection Department for false advertising, and let's see what happens. Would still love to hear from someone who knows Bose/Infiniti enough to tell me if I can buy anything to fix this.
