Not sure about the Ipod classics ability to output video...i used the exact same cable and it does charge and view video from my iphone 4. you won't be able to use the steering wheel to control the ipod if you use that cable. you can find the post here:

If you end up buying this cable, get it on ebay for 10 bucks.

If you have the iPhone 4 and buy this adapter, do you still have to jailbreak it and all that like the above link? I have the navi in my car if that makes a difference .

Be careful with the ebay and non-oem stuff. I bought 3 different cables ranging in price from $5 to $15 from various sources and none of them worked properly....for iphone 4, if you don't jailbreak, you can still view ipod videos and movies just not gps and other apps like slingbox etc.

1) Yes, the cable has a chip that lets video be displayed on newer Ipods and Classics. It also works with older Ipods. The Ebay cables don't work with the new Ipods as they don't have a chip to let the video signal go through. The great thing is that the cable has a USB male connector. To charge the ipod you will have to get a cigarette lighter charger with a USB input so that you can charge it. This cable comes with in home wall outlet charger only. You will only be able to see the Videos if you have the AUX input and your car is in Park with emergency brake engaged unless you hack. Google for more info.

2) Steering controls only if connected through the Ipod integration dock and not with these these cables. You will have to manually search for videos and music to display on your car's LCD screen.

I have my ipod video 60gb,
It does work. But mine doesn't charge... but i guess you can use the 12V beside the AUX to charge your ipod at the same time its playing. And yes, the video won't show when you are in motion.

2. My steering wheel buttons nor those ones on the dash works, i can only change my music from my ipod.

I bought the Amazon version of this cable and I play a video and scroll over to Cinema but it still says "Playback will continue when the vehicle is not in motion" but the problem is that the vehicle is not in motion. Any ideas?

I have an '09 BTW.

The emergency brake has to be on.
