Voice Recognition Updates?

So anyway, I've been reading the threads in here about how the earlier models had all of the voice recognition features outlined in the manual, but then Infiniti decided that they needed to shutdown the majority of them for safety reasons. I was "lucky" enough to have one of the later cars with all of the cool stuff disabled.

So, fast forward to today... I'm watching comercials on TV about the new Ford SYNC system that looks like they have all of that cool stuff.

Wow.... somebody has a Ford Fusion with the voice recognition features that I should have in my G37.... kinda sucks, huh?

I'm glad that Infiniti was looking out for my well being....

I can't believe that *somebody* has not figured out how to re-enable all of the voice recognition features.... anybody?

Biggest complaint of my G37. I had a 2007 G35 and the voice control was unbelievable. Control temps, easily change between music and even automatically dial into a station or cd song, not have to slowly wade your way through menus, etc. It was super easy, and really really handy. If anything this is more dangerous because I'm constantly having to look at the screen when it says "please select one". I just don't get it...and hate it to the point that I just never use my voice activation anymore. Where is the safety in that!

Supposedly the only way to get them back is to get the controller unit that has them prior to the cutoff date. Only problem is the dealer quoted a ridiculous price to buy one prepaid and wouldn't say mine was bad because the computer wouldn't let him order it as a warranty replacement.

Infiniti really f'd us on this one.

This car's voice recognition is embarrasing. I have a 2010 but I can't do anything without getting myself frustrated.

Seriously the Voice recognition is so bad on my 2010 G that I usually end up pulling over to input addresses on the GPS. I do not use the voice for phone Cuz its actually making me look like a fool repeating after a robot. My 06 550i was awesome.
