Vehicle Alarm Imact Sensor kill Switch
Vehicle Alarm Imact Sensor kill Switch
Hi guys. I recently installed a vehicle alarm impact sensor in my G. The thing works perfectly... sometimes a little too perfectly.
I spend a good bit of time with some friends that have VERY loud trucks. Every time one of them would drive by my car the alarm would go off. The trucks are so loud that it would go off even on the lowest setting. For example, it went off 7 times last Friday night when I was parked outside of my buddy's house. So I decided to install a kill switch for it.
It is very simple to do. You just cut the ground wire for the VAIS and install a switch inline with it. I ran a wire and put the switch in the empty slot below the key charger on the driver side of the dash.
When the switch is off you still have your regular break in alarm and when the switch is on the impact sensor resumes its normal function. Now whenever I go over to my buddy's house I simply flick the switch off and problem solved.
I don't know if anyone else has had a similar problem, but if you have I hope this helps!
