HELP! Hidden Dealer Menu "Factory Reset" option removed menus from my controler

So i was asking my Friend why my brand new G37 Sedan 6MT didn't have the option to automatically move the steering wheel when entering/exiting like the Journey model he drives.

One thing led to another and he ended up showing me the hidden dealer menu ... and in the adjustments section he hit some option like "Reset Factory Data".

This didn't "fix" the missing options and in fact now has completly removed the "comfort" menu on my control and changed the look of some of the screens. For example I now have a bar gauge for MPG instead of a numeric readout.

WTF? How do I get back to the original look/menu options?

Please help before I kill him

hmm interesting.... even the base model has the digital read out...

I have been reading into the AV diagnostic system. It has pretty interesting menus. I mean seriously "settings followed by rotating the volume **** clockwise 40 clicks" it's pretty crafty.

This might require a visit to the dealers.... cause I think all of the trim settings "settings" cannot be done through the AV unit, but by one of their computers..

but yeah the 6MTs don't have the steering wheel adjustments. I'm not sure why, but yeah none of them do. I mean it's not like it's something they'd neglect. I just don't think that they considered the circuitry w/o the automatic. I think BMW does the same way. (fixed steering wheel for the manuals)

METHOD OF STARTING
1. Start the engine.
2. Turn the audio system OFF.
3. While pressing the “SETTING” button, turn the volume control
dial clockwise or counterclockwise for 40 clicks or more. (When
the self-diagnosis mode is started, a short beep will be heard.)
• Shifting from current screen to previous screen is performed
by pressing “BACK” button.

It's in the posts above

Update - So I went to the dealer and told them the story of what happened. Software guys looked at it and it appears that there is a base software loaded on the system and then Infiniti adds on "modules" that change the look and add features for different model years/options/packages. The Factory Reset has removed these modules and the dealer needs to talk to corporate to find out how to reload them ..

Car runs fine ... except for my free XM subscription has now stopped working ... I'm guessing it's going to be a while before they can get the software put back together again

So what goodies lurk in the dealer menu? (I'm not interested in the cruise missile launcher, just the code to enable the turbos).

I want the 'get back the advanced voice command before we dumbed it down in 2009' option. Seriously, I'm willing to bet that's a single switch in the software, they would never actually remove the old code, just disable it.

That would be worth a high risk of deleting things!!! Seriously!!

Yes, could someone detail what is in there to change that's worth the bother?

Will this work on the coupe?

I wonder if they could enable the Nav-version of the steering wheel button module (the one that has Enter and Back buttons) on a non-Nav model? I really, really, really wish I could do that. I have the Nav-version switch assembly installed, but the computer does not read the extra buttons. Those buttons are godsend when trying to change songs on the iPod!
