Remote Starter availble direct from Nissan in Japan?

I was looking at the on the Nissan Japanese website and I noticed that almost every car has a remote starter listed as an option. It looks like it might be a dealer installed option but I'm not sure. It lists the price at 61,000 Yen ($700 USD). I wonder if the North American cars have the wiring infrastructre in place and if you could just order the module and have it installed.

This was discussed eons ago and if I remember correctly it was decided that it's not compatible. But you could be the first to actually try it out and find out for certain.

That wouldn't surprise me if it didn't work although I didn't find any threads specifically mentioning that.

LOL yeah, I'd rather not spend $700 + taxes on something that may or may not work. That's why I'm trying to see if I can get the installation manual.

I found a guy who actually bought the unit.

First to buy factory Nissan Remote Start for 370Z!! - Nissan 370Z Forum

Basically it's a "plug and play" unit like the illuminated kick plates, however, the wiring harnesses don't match up even though you can plug it in. The guy couldn't find anyone willing to play around with the system so he sold it. So it *may* work but chances are it wouldn't.
